  • It doesn't require root. Device admin is different.

    I currently run this app on android 15 without root and it runs very well. However I just noticed that it seems to not have a new release in a few years and should probably be considered orphaned. So I might recommend ParanoidsPal-PrivacyLock instead.

  • As others have said, the most secure option is to not use biometrics.

    However an app like private lock might be a decent compromise

  • Sounds like the exploit is really just consolidating the unencrypted secrets that were stored by devs in public logs. Or am I missing something?

    Devs, secure your secrets. Encrypt your secrets. Ensure secrets don't show in plain text in your logs. Audit your third party usage.

  • Its not for people to buy. Companies like Google simply don't need to make profit anymore.

    Its to show growth potential to investors. And when they inevitably cut the program, it will also show growth potential to investors since then it will be millions of dollars saved.
