If Google pay the best search price that funds browser development, why not? Firefox aren't in the search market. They could easily go bing or yahoo like they used previously, but more income means more money away for building modern web browsers which are millions of lines of code.
Brave don't need to do that because Google codes their browser for them.
It still is more browser share for Chromium. Business owners will see that share and use it as part of the business case in implementing WEI. If you want it stopped, you gotta use a real alternative such as Firefox.
I couldn't get OBS working. X11 works for it, so I keep using it. Hopefully eventually, I won't need to, but I don't have the time to spend hours researching and troubleshooting. I tried, failed, but x11 Just Works TM. I'm part of the problem, I guess.
I don't agree, it is perfectly normal to spy on people and make sure they're not committing a crime. I'm sure execs of these companies and those politicians would be fine with that if we were watching from their windows just to make
sure they aren't using illegal content... /s
Yes. Jitsi was one of the best for a while. Secure and just works. I think Element wasn't e2e encrypted while debugging but I'm guessing is close to usable. I mentioned it more as a FOSS alternative.
Or... he's just a dick. I don't hate him. Hate is an unnecessary negative emotion.
However, his track record is pretty damning, and if you think people dislike him only because the media tell them, then I'm afraid your ability to see and appraise information is pretty compromised.
Maybe. Mint came first, and I wonder what purposes those other ones were trying to serve. I don't know or care enough about the others. Do they differentiate enough to bother with?
Yeah, definitely would avoid. I've had to reinstall twice on desktop, twice on mobile due to update breakage. Mint is a great starting point. Kubuntu if you don't mind snaps and like KDE.
Compared to windows, not LFS or Arch. Considering it works well on 10 year old devices, either people concerned are using 20 year old hardware, or are a little too paranoid of "bloatware".
Because it is still Chromium... With crypto BS
