  • Historically, the power switch between Conservatives and Liberals roughly each decade.

A few months ago, conservatives were a shoe in for a majority government. So what happened here is nothing short of spectacular.

American style politics were staved off for at least a cycle and considering the state of the world, I welcome that.

  • Bloc Quebecois is only represented in Quebec while the NPD is represented across Canada.

So the Bloc had a lot of concentrated vote in Quebec, winning a lot of ridings while the NPD didn't score well across Canada, not getting much riding.

First Past The Post create these discrepencies.

  • Social medias thrive on engagement, and controversial content is king of engagement.

So social medias companies push content like Andrew Tate and co because it makes them money and they don't care about anything else.

Young people are impressionable, and they get pushed that crap over and over.

If everyday of your life you get told that women are just baby factories, you will eventually start to believe it, some sooner than others.

  • Laziness. I used Ubuntu, then tried a few distros based on it, and Linux Mint worked well enough out of the box.

I have a few issues with it, but i have easy workarounds so that's good enough for me.
