  • I think you need 1000 subscribers to be able to monetize your videos. That's not an issue for the well known youtubers but the vast majority of them don't make a penny.

Also, you watching hours of ads makes few cents for the content creator. By donating one dollar directly they've already made more than they ever would from ads.

  • Wouldn't want a solar farm anywhere I wouldn't want a giant warehouse either. You probably wouldn't put a warehouse in the middle of residential neighborhood anyways so I don't think that's an issue. Plenty of places to put those where people don't need to be inconvenienced by them.

Windmills on the other hand I think are cool as fuck. I've never actually stood right next to one but people say they're a bit noisy, so while I might not want one on my yard I sure wouldn't mind seeing them from the window.

  • What if it was some other celebrity with similarly large following doing that on some other platform?

I don't quite buy that explanation. Basically the same thing is happening elsewhere too but instead of it being done by a single individual it's done by many. The end result is just the same.

  • Having your mic and camera disabled, but being connected to the internet kind of defeats the purpose aswell. It's better than nothing, but even with a device like that, powering it off doesn't gurantee that no one is tracking it. Taking off the battery does.

  • I'm having real hard time trying to understand what kind of "misinformation and violence" is spreading on twitter, that isn't on other social media platforms such as right here. I wonder what even counts as "misinformation" at this point, as you can make quite outrageous but factual claims about both sides (Israeli government and hamas)

This is the most confusing conflict I've ever paid any significant attention to, and it feels like the more I learn, the less I understand.

  • I try not to be one of the people making it worse.

You may not agree with everything I say and that's fine, but if you have an argument I'll hear you out, and I don't attack you personally for it, be nasty or start calling names. I don't have a side so I'm not saying stuff to get an applause from them.

  • I think what's more realistic to happen is that internet will be split into two and after certain websites and services become unuseable to people who care about privacy and such, then new alternatives will just emerge along the more popular ones. Kinda like Lemmy.

  • Not iPhone, but I'll reply anyways.

Double click on wake up button opens the camera. One click on the programmable side button for notes, long press for my expenses logging app and for the another programmable button, one click for flashlight and long click for my fuel consumption and expenses tracking app.
