  • Do you realize that just saying no to everything doesn't constitute an actual discussion? How about giving an actual reason or logic for what you're arguing rather than just saying no increasingly louder like a child. Or is that what your priest told you when you started asking questions?

  • IMHO this is the primary reason why the government should not be a gatekeeper for divorce. I'm so sorry to hear what you went through and I hope people pushing for government control of our relationships can develop a shred of empathy.

  • What drugs are you smoking that cause you to disassociate from reality so much and where can I get some?

  • Maybe we shouldn't generalize the entire sport of road cycling based on a few finance d-bags who took it up.

  • Excuse me sir, I don't appreciate you causing me mental discomfort by having to reevaluate the beliefs that I was raised with.

That's why I only eat cows that are organic, grassfed, and humanely treated. They get to live out their lives frolicking free in the fields due to the loosely defined "free range" requirements. Except for when they take a bolt gun to the head at a fraction of their lifespan but we don't like to think about that.

  • Traffic engineering isn't a university program and we're still using studies from the 50's to dictate our traffic engineering. It's civil engineers in NA who are forced to follow outdated policy which maximizes for car traffic flow, regardless of body count or overall flow of poeple across all transit options. Generally, city planners are all for public transit and walkable and bike able cities but have to battle with politicians appealing to suburbanites with cars.

  • I think the point here is that suburbs and cities have such dogshit public transit and bike infrastructure that people do everything by car. Nobody is telling those who live in rural areas to bike 30km to get groceries.

  • Also, trams/streetcars in Zurich have right of way and the red lights change for them. Which is completely logical considering how many more people you can fit in them than a few cards at a red light. The problems with public transit in North America are a function of our car infrastructure.

  • Y'all need some better headphones

  • Vehicular manslaughter 😎

  • If you're looking for effortless then go with Ubuntu. It's honestly solid. Linux mint is another alternative. There's other I can recommend but I think stability and not having to fix/tinker as things break unexpectedly sounds like something you value.

  • You're projecting what many poorly planned, car-dependant cities look like as being a basic fact of all cities.
