  • I don't think anyone was expecting a vote to ratify Ukraine today, just a solid plan with a timeline. Everyone agrees Ukraine should join when the war ends, what is "the end" of the war; when Russia leaves, or after Russia stops launching attacks from its borders? What steps will Ukraine need to take at that point that it hasn't already? How long will the process take? Is it more like Finland, more like Sweden, or more like...2014? I think those were the details Zelenskyy was looking for, and while Stoltenberg says one thing, Biden and Scholz say another, Sunak's talking out of both corners of his mouth, the Baltics want Ukraine on their flank ASAP, Western Europe doesn't want to provoke Putin still (I think China is running a lot of interference on their behalf diplomatically).

Ukraine is okay not receiving an invitation to join today, but they at least want a Save the Date and NATO can't agree on a wedding date yet.

  • Yeah. If it weren't some Deadpool Multiverse nonsense it would look ridiculous. I love the 90s X-Men as much as the next guy, but trying to build a film franchise in the 21st century, the yellow would not fly. I can't wait to see this one.

  • I like Silk's soy creamer. Original flavor is preferable, but vanilla is still better than anything else. Starbucks' soy (they only have vanilla), Coffee mate, international delight, etc are all too sweet for me (even, maybe especially the sugar-free varieties). Oat milk is too high in sugar content, almond creamer doesn't have the right texture. Half and half or milk are okay, though I feel like it masks or neutralizes the nuttiness of my favorite roast.

I try new stuff when I can, and usually switch to something pumpkin spice flavored in the fall, but I always settle back on Silk soy creamer. 🤷‍♀️

  • Russia's mined the fuck out of the whole east and south of the country. Not just land mines, but little petal mines and crap all over the place. UXO/mine disposal is already going to take decades. Western Europe still explodes a handful of people with UXO leftover from WW1 and 2, but it was still worth supporting them with weapons to win those wars.

Ukraine likely intends to crack open the cluster bombs and use the 80 or so individual munitions inside for dropping from drones. These weapons are basically an 80-for-1 deal the US has no use for, and the west can't produce mutions fast enough to give or sell to Ukraine.

  • I they're referring to cold smoking. It's just smoking at a temp of like 80 degrees for like 18 hours or something. It's how you make lox.

  • The election in Turkey is over; he no longer needs to placate Russia for resources or his conservative, religious electoral base. This action tells me one of two things (but I'm just an internet know it all): 1. Erdogan has enough economic leverage over Russia that he can do what he wants and they'll still extend the grain deal next month or 2. He has been notified that the grain deal will not be renewed under any circumstances and is just trying to get back into western good graces.

  • It's definitely both. Love when my husband puts work and effort into our home and life together. 😍😍

It's such a bummer he's so tired after all the chores lol

  • Good. Fuck UPS. My UPS guy is the fucking best. He deserves much better.

  • I get so many trash notifications it would just be on all the time and I'd turn it off.

  • Preach. Tell your boss I said everybody needs to be in bed by 11. I'll write you a note. 👵

  • Everybody should be in bed by 11pm, midnight on the weekends. Nothing good happens after that. Get your beauty sleep.

  • When people turn a popular post into an Oscars Acceptance Speech

ETA: wow thanks for the upvotes!

ETA2: omg my first gold award?? I couldn't have made it without my mom and Jesus through whom all things are possible

  • I think they overestimated how much engagement the average reditter provides. Most people are consuming content, but not contributing any or posting comments or clicking ads or anything. 90% of engagement is driven by like 20% of users or some shit like that.
