  • Until it breaks like all these tend to, xManager seems the best method. Here's a demo. Yes on the VPN although then you're paying for a VPN or gambling on what the free provider does with your data. Additionally some like Cloudflare's free WARP VPN, only encrypts traffic and its purpose isn't to hide your IP address. Private Internet Access is recommended often for a paid VPN, I haven't used them since switching from torrents to usenet for video and the patched Spotify version for music.

  • Really liked how you worded that. It reminded me of this video about afterlife I rewatch when I'm having an existential crisis. One quote from the video,

"Ironically enough the only part of me that is immortal, for all intents and purposes, is my material body. Because after I die, and after our Sun dies, and after the planetary nebula it leaves behind fades away, every atom of me will be recycled back into the universe. Ultimately becoming part of other planets and stars. We are originally star dust literally, and we will be star dust again."

  • Both are solvable problems which our society chooses not to solve. I remember the first time outside the U.S. when I saw a shopping cart where you insert a coin to unlock it from the pack. Certainly not as easy to solve homelessness, right now outside some small but promising pilot projects for 'housing first' it appears most people are still stuck in the stage of complaining unhoused folks lower their property values.

  • We all do better when we all do better.

As someone who has only worked freight in an air-conditioned warehouse, moving boxes is not easy work and not many people will be able to do it their whole careers. I'm personally glad I argue with computers for my job now and I have much respect for those lifting things in the elements.
