UFO absolutely holds connotations of aliens, and has for half a century. That's why the term UAP began use, to separate official documentation for the implication of aliens. And OP clearly referring to aliens.

That's debatable. Are you saying that a closed box has an equal chance to contain an alien than any other object? Is it reasonable to say there is a chance that any closed box is containing an alien? I would say the answer is no.

It's a much higher mortality rate than the average event. More people died at this event then most events.

In this case op is clearly referring to aliens.

Otherwise saying UFOs are confirmed real is bit of a conundrum. It's like saying not knowing the contents of this closed box are confirmed real.

Those two examples you've given (asking the computer about the network and printer) don't need ai (LLMs in this context) to exist. They need to be pre programmed absolute functions. Suggesting that these LLMs are a step towards that not only ignores that we already have voice assistants built into computers, but ignores the fact that LLM outputs are volatile and can't be trusted.

Sure, a not insignificant number of sports stars have a background that's considered lower class, but the number of people living below that poverty line that will become sports stars is so low I'm not even sure how many zeros go between 0.[...]1%

Even if all of those people were top class athletes, there's only room in the sports world for a few hundred of them at most.

It's not a realistic career path, it's a lottery that requires high level athletic skill.

It doesn't seem that realistic if you need to perform in the top 1% among all your poverty stricken competitors. There's a finite number of places for successful athletes.

Regarding the paper analogy,

Paper is a material, not a discrete object. A sheet is an object, but is ambiguous until you quantify what is it a sheet of.

You could have a sheet of paper, or metal, or pasta.

A page would be a way to say a sheet of paper as an object.

Because now a phone is just a touchscreen with a processor behind it. It's up to the software developers to bring the value, and they don't dare change that because any deviation will prevent the next flappy bird from running on their hardware.

That's the opposite of apropos of nothing...

I remember playing it on PlayStation. The game struggled when too many things were happening. If you managed to stage a massive car pile up it could turn into a slideshow presentation.

I think there's space for this in very specific use cases, none if which will be relevant to the average home or work customer. I'm thinking more like a small number of laboratory scenarios.

A bit more than once a decade I play them on emulator and try to 100% them. Great fun. I also try to make sure to visit the locations in the real world if I'm on holiday nearby where they based a level.

It's kind of sad that the Venice Beach area hasn't existed since the 90s.

Edit: I did just realise this thread is about PC games, but I do play them on PC albeit through a PlayStation emulator. I do believe the games are available on PC.
