No one who can actually win/no one democrats would actually endorse.

Kamala is basically just another Joe Biden. Someone to toe the line and keep the status quo. Is she better than Trump? Absofuckinglutely. Am I voting for her? Hell yeah. But she's just more of the same. And the same has sucked for a long time....

Also if she wins I feel like 4 years later were going to be having this exact same conversation about protecting America from Republican facist while Democrats ignore their constituents while they fight amongst themselves.

How about parents actually monitor their kids web activity instead getting the government involved? I fucking hate Facebook and most forms of social media and they do skirt responsibility for a lot of the problems they cause but making internet forums liable for things like bullying, scammers, or anything "damaging to children" is basically impossible.

Protecting kids user data? All for it. But from what I read this just seems like another step in over policing the internet

It's because the Democratic party is a coalition. The Democratic party ISN'T LEFT. It's a party made up of moderates (right wingers) and liberals.

That exactly the point. We're in the age of the 24 hour news cycle were attentions spans have been grounded into dust. For a campaign to win there needs to be nonstop engagement. Half of lemmy forgot all the actual good stuff Biden has done in his 4 years. Even the stuff they wanted and legitimately benefitted from. The fuck is a new candidate going to do in 3 or 4 months?
