This is the 3rd time in a few days I'm hearing about a pilot passing out/dieing in the middle of a flight. This just the law of averages or is something going on with pilots?

The comment about the Universiry of California having its most diverse class leaves out some colleges saw a 40% drop in black and latino students that didn't get close to pre Affirmative Action numbers for almost 20 years.

The ban on legacy admissions will ultimately change very little in my opinion as the the majority of legacy candidates come from wealthy families with ties to the university. They'll just call a legacy candidate something else because we all know this won't really be enforced.

You really want to make higher education fair you have to take money out of it and force institutions to take in candidates fairly.

Agreed until the last part. Pretty sure adding more weapons to an active conflict never works. The better idea would be a cultural shift in teaching ppl not to be complete pieces of shit

Nah. Poor ppl who can't afford to leave the hell hole that is Florida will have their houses destroyed. No matter how rich the area there's always a poorer lower class living nearby to do their dirty work. The rich have lawyers to sue to get their insurance to cover damages or are covered by government flood insurance. The poor will suffer while the rich get richer and rebuild even though they built their mansions of flood plains. I lived in coastal Carolina. I've seen it a million times

Sadly that's more of an American thing. Guilty until proven innocent is only given to those the public likes. In the court of public opinion you're guilty until proven innocent and a fair trial is only afforded to the likeable

The worst part is you're looked at as crazy for bringing a refillable water bottle with you from ppl paying $6 for bottled water
