Archive.org retains the website. I want to track the actual data. I haven't had a moment to inspect the website to see how the data is being pulled.

Any way we could keep a historical record of these businesses? I can foresee them doing a full cleansing of their internet presence as they lose business.

Piracy is a result of a service problem. I would gladly pay a reasonable fee monthly for access to any and every show I want to watch. I'm for sure am not going to pay for 12 different streaming services so I can watch severance on one, the office on another, the wire on a third when I can just download it for free.

Hell I would pay a pirate a monthly amount just to have seamless turnkey access. But the level of effort is so low these days that honestly there's no reason to pay for streaming.

iflix, fmovies, sudo flix are all streaming alternatives. Free. No signups required.

I haven't checked yet but I spent my evening last night completely rebalancing my 401k and IRA to international stocks and municipal bonds.

If all goes well, my 401k should be executed by now. My IRA I have to do myself but that should be done tomorrow.

This chillingly reminds me of the quote in The Hurt Locker.

"I either defuse the bomb or it's not my problem anymore."

If you die, it really isn't your problem anymore. But if you're alive, then you have to have food, shelter, and all that annoying stuff.

As of tomorrow, my 401k will be 75% in international stocks, 15% municipal bonds, 10% domestic stocks.

I'm making similar moves in my IRA but can't for the life of me see an easy way to make the same changes.

I felt like Matrix Resurrections was kind of a circle jerk against itself.

It's about exerting power.

These assholes pretty much control their base. Their base plugs their ears whenever facts are presented to them.

The question that I raise is "then why care about what factual news people say? Why care about any protests when you can spin it effortlessly?"

Because fascism and authoritarianism is primarily concerned about flexing their muscles, their power. Demonstrating their reach.

It's a dick measuring contest, so that their followers can see how big and thick their leaders can punish "others".

It's a situation where it's a combination of "it works for me so this is how it should be for everyone" and "the world would be so much better if everyone acted this way".

On the surface it makes sense.

But it's almost passive aggressive oppression.

I've met these women. They aren't stupid, per se. They don't want to "think". They just want to live their simple life, doing whatever their husband or kids want.

They don't want to think about the world. Just their world.

But think about this for a second.

It's the conservative mindset: "The world doesn't affect ME so why should I care? I'm not being oppressed so everything is fine!"
