  • It feels like it's always been this way. The amount of 'doom clones' from the way back times are not to be forgotten.

  • Now they're made with marketable 'passion', 'dedication', and a team with 'a family atmosphere'. My personal favorite 'respect for the lore and previous games in the series' definitely never has made a triple A game worse for wear.

Disingenuous buzzwords with no objective meaning behind them are my favorite things to hear in a game. It tells me to steer clear as far away as I possibly can. Which is a shame because I'd like to be excited about vampire: the masquerade 2.

  • Don't need the whole body, just turn all my joints/cartilage/soft tissue back to 18 and I'll just keep it moving (literally)

  • I've been finishing up random challenges in monster hunter wilds. There's not much left on the 'achievable without rng shenanigans' list for me to get, so I've started planning for the next one.

Metal bringer. It's a looter rogue lite in which you play as the daughter of amazing science family whose legacy has been besmirched or something, causing you to have to get out into a world of bots that need some good 'sploding.

The game loop eventually leads to starting with a massive mech and trashing the early game. The boss designs and weapons are really nice though some of the areas give me a headache.

  • It's nice to see how many of yall are quick with whatever your favorite fictional universe is..

I have never put much thought into one I'd deem as a favorite. I like a lot of games, shows, books, and such.. But I don't think I'd be able to pick just one.

  • I just add an 'a' to marble. Marable. It's a harmless include that has no special ulterior meanings.

  • Thank you. This is the first pi day since I learned of it that I was reminded early enough in the day that I can get down on some pie.

    • Those three guys at the bar that got OP to move multiple times because they could while OP was alone as their partner had wandered off somewhere.
    • The neighbors that seem to delight in living near OPs car, which OP simply cannot fix in any meaningful way. Parking slightly further away is somehow just off the table.
    • The same neighbors who have young kids who seem to live.. above? OP and due to their inconsiderate ways OP can't get any rest.
    • The "hiring manager" who asked for personal details, added them on facebook, rushed them to complete some kind of job application, and then ghosted them for absolutely no reason.

As those defending them.. I guess people on social platforms like this one have not been unanimously against these vile beings they find themselves surrounded by.

  • Am I an asshole?

It's a more common question than you'd think.

  • That makes a lot more sense. According to the original post in which I was responding:

"I’m talking about like, service workers and store employees who are miserable and take their anger out on completely innocent people."

It was from that framework that I made my post. In those settings as an customer/bystander (which would be completely innocent people) it would be very strange to get bullying comments from many of them. Most wouldn't/don't care enough about people they literally don't need to interact with to even bother putting the effort in to bully.

Office work/hierarchy bullying are super common and happen in almost any workplace I've ever seen. I wasn't aware that was the topic. As for how to avoid being bullied in those types of situations.. it's a lot of work. Some of the common ways people handle it are to ignore, confront, joke, or play dumb. I personally mix it up.

But the single best way to deal with bullying is/has/will always be: group up. Bullies generally 'punch down', going for people who appear in some way weaker than they are. It falls apart very quickly when there are others around who are willing and able to support you.

  • It's more of a bell curve situation. The goal is to look as unoffensive as possible. Anything that can set off the 'life is unfair' alarm in people who are already unhappy increases the chances of comments. That includes, looking nice, wearing expensive (or perceived expensive) anything, most well doe makeup usage, nonstandard nailwork (anything more than a simple color).

While this isn't true for everyone, it is definitely true for those who are willing to toss out comments in the first place..

And I wonder more than that how often you are getting comments. Unless you're on either extreme end of the bell curve, or in some other way sticking out way more than you should, it's strange to me that anyone would deal with being bullied.

  • I truly hope your circles don't run into this often.

  • Similarly, 40ish hours for an mmo binge back in the day.

  • For most middle and low income families 'filing taxes' is how they get the amount they overpaid returned. If they cannot then the government keeps the extra.

  • It'll be a perfect shitstorm. It'll also show the horizon of what's coming from the current administrations current changes.

  • I'm waiting for 2027 before I start being shocked at anything happening. That will be quite a year.

  • On paper it totally should be. I mean, you're not growing animals, just the parts you want to eat in a vat.

But well, in actuality it may follow the same path as vertical farming.

  • He's also strangely against lab grown meat.. which I just flat out don't understand. It's unproven on whether or not it's even economically viable... and PA is famous for scrapple. So I mean.. calling anything else slop is confusing.

  • That is/was the plan, I was just wondering what insights people who actually know about privacy stuff would have overall. And I have been educated nicely thanks to a bunch of the folks on here.

  • I rotate my password every 6 months at this point. It's about as secure as a human who wants to remember a password could be. It's 20+ characters with all the various password needed inclusions.

And yeah, I can access it through an external application without issue. But if I ever want to change settings or make new email rules it becomes an issue.
