One of the main issues blocking me from going to Wayland is an app (cursr) that lets me move my cursor between different resolution displays only runs in X. Is there a solution in Wayland for this? I can post elsewhere but thought this seemed like a decent first step

This series is really good. The second game is the only one I've ever preordered. I also bought and played through the enhanced edition right before it came out.

Like a handful of other people in this thread, I found the shift in combat to be a bit jarring, making the game focus a bit more on combat in general. That said, the original combat which was certinaly required was very uninteresting -- mashing 1 button until their HP hit 0 -- so the shift to the newer system wasn't completely unwelcome.

The music and visuals of this game are incredible as well. Both probably in the top 5 of games for me.

I think I have the 5th on steam that I plan on checking out... Some time

I have never player any of these games but they seem really fun and I think a bit goofy at times too?

I'm sure there was a way to disable it but whenever I would hit print screen a one drive ad would pop up on my laptop. It also kept bugging me to update to windows 11, where the options were "yes" and "ask me again in 3 days". I had no intentions of upgrading to win11.

I also don't like many of the changes made in win11, while I haven't used it much I've touched it and it bothered me. Examples include the lack of vertical task bar, the weird context menu, the rounded edges, and the start menu. Plus my desktop PC doesn't even support win11 for some reason so this seemed like a good time to make the switch.

As someone also starting to get into Linux I appreciate these posts

I use tasks and set up a self hosted caldav instance. I think if you donate to tasks they'll do the syncing for you too? Don't quote me on that though

Welcome. I just started using linux recently myself and have been loving it. I would Definitely recommend checking out all the desktop environments to see what works best for you! I've done a bit of shopping and I think I've landed on KDE, myself.

This is reasonably valid. I think Windows makes it a bit harder to do real damage to your system, so I'm used to that. I also have borked installs in VMs before, but that's never mattered because spinning up a new one takes no time. Definitely a valuable lesson to do more research before running commands, especially as sudo

This is why I gave up on fixing it yesterday lol. I spent a few days setting it up, I didn't wanna spend a few more days to try to figure out exactly what the issue was when I could just give in and then actually use it

I think I know what the issue was... I modified the grub.cfg file and ran grub2-mkconfig and I think it was saying it detected a Linux install at my root partition, but didn't seem to recognize my /boot or /boot/efi partitions and I couldn't figure out how to edit that via the grub cli. If that wasn't the case, then that's okay. I'll make sure to teach myself a bit more about the bootloader before trying to edit it again

You're right. I spent a few hours trying to fix it before giving up and determined that reinstalling would be quicker lol
