Agree with this. With cars it makes them vulnerable to hacking unless safety critical systems are isolated. Fly-by-wire airplanes specifically isolate the flight control computers from anything that could connect to the internet for this reason
Since you're on Lemmy, I'll explain the part of the fediverse that I know best. The best way I can articulate it based on what I know is this... it's a bunch of different sites, using the same software, known as Lemmy. Each site using the Lemmy software is called an instance, and these instances are able to correspond in a way that is pretty seamless as if it's all one big site! Although you never actually leave your native instance, it doesn't feel that way because when you post to an instance that isn't your native one, it's like sending a request to that instance to push your post forward. In no time, your post appears on the remote instance!
One of the best things about this is each instance is independently operated, so you don't have to worry about a rogue admin making unfavourable changes. For instance (hehe) I'm on the lemm.ee instance, but I'm posting to Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world via this page! lemm.ee/post/62441272
Fastest time to get over a cold. Colds for me only last a few days and I recently got over one in 4. The person I caught it from still has congestion and a cough
For me it's ordering takeout. I never order takeout online, I always call up the place with my phone 🤷♀️ much easier to customize an order this way too
I've been using Paint Tool Sai 1.1.0 for as long as I've been drawing digitally and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It has a really good pen stabilizer feature, awesome blending modes (I luv u Lumi & Shade) and it just feels so...natural to draw with. Plus, it's super lightweight. I still can't believe it was made by just one guy!
Contrast. As in, the balance of values in my drawings. My eyes seem to be simultaneously contrast-sensitive and quick to desensitize if I keep looking at the picture, so I end up in this weird state of feeling like a picture has either got too much contrast or too little...
I don't wanna reveal too much personal info but things have been going so well for me for a while now! So I'd say this current one 😃 I'd say the past two years have been the happiest ones of my entire life
It's a way of getting easy engagement with minimal effort. There's so many videos on YouTube lately where it becomes really obvious that they were sloppily made using AI. They're all so... same-y, with the weirdly coloured text, grammatical errors and a looping AI generated video in the background.
