  • (🚫 No AI is used in my art. I upload progress pictures and more here)

Probably this drawing of a jelly angel tardigrade I did last year...

Compared to my other drawings, I'd say it looks pretty plain.

  • I find this segment to be particularly insightful:

  • No problem! šŸ™‚ A lot of this stuff about him is kinda new to me too!

  • With all due respect, Musk has made his intentions more than obvious. The links I provided regarding Elon are non-exhaustive, he's also spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and has promoted a safe space for pro-Nazi sympathizers to spread their hate speech. All things considered, it makes it very hard for me and many others to plausibly believe there is any ambiguity regarding his intentions.

The claim of it being a "Roman salute" is a disingenuous one, because the Nazis in history also claimed that the salute was "Roman". Whether it truly did originate from ancient Rome or not, it's a salute that is now unequivocally associated with Nazis and the people who pretend that this isn't the case are being deliberately misleading.

  • Hi! The salute that Elon Musk did twice looks exactly the same as Hitler himself doing it. Elon Musk made Nazi jokes afterwards, and he also made an appearance at Germany's far-right AfD party, a party that is no stranger to creating posters with Nazi imagery. I totally understand trying to give people the benefit of the doubt, but in this case it is very blatant that Elon Musk is not a good person and genuinely holds some troublesome beliefs, which is why many people, me included, have deleted their Twitter accounts.

  • My friends. I seem to have this weird ability where if I start talking to someone, time will go by really fast and then we suddenly realize it's some ungodly hour of the morning.

  • When I was a toddler, and my parents took me shopping, as soon as I got anywhere near the part of the store/shop that had bread, I'd always end up quickly stealing a baguette, opening it, and start eating it. By the time my parents paid for everything the baguette was nearly non existent. Of course my parents paid for the baguette in the end, but I'm pretty sure it's against the rules to steal and eat one and then force your parents to pay for it. Little old toddler me didn't care about the rules!

    I still absolutely love baguettes.

  • I heard they have really good cell reception.

  • Sorry about your day. Hope your mom feels better soon and today/tomorrow is much better!

  • I'm so sorry about your cat! hugs if you need someone to talk to I'm here! Pets can be our best friends and losing a best friend can be such a difficult thing to go through. In those 11 years I'm sure you gave her the best life she could, and she appreciates that dearly. Be sure to give yourself time!

  • Aww I'm so sorry! Losing a pet can be such a difficult time but I'm sure you two made a lot of happy memories together. I'm here if you need someone to talk to! Hugs

  • I'm doing great! Thank you for asking. I recently woke up from a nap, and now I'm hungry! Though I'm not entirely sure what it is I want to eat... How are you? 😃

  • It's all fun and games until we're overrun by cybernetic goombas.

  • I'm not an American, so there's some solace in the fact that I don't live in the country where this is all going down. I do however have friends who are American, so I've been offering whatever advice I can to them and the least I can do is be that friend they feel safe openly venting to.

  • I don't use Reddit, nor do I tend to do so, so take what I say with a pinch of salt!

Reddit is one of those sites that utilizes AI moderation, so if you've been banned without any warning or notice, chances are your ban wasn't even authorized by another human, but instead by a bot. Your IP address can either be static or dynamic, and if you have a dynamic IP address that changes to an IP that is associated with a user who got banned at some point in time, chances are the bot will see you as that other person and assume a ban evasion.

You could try appealing. If that doesn't work, perhaps it's best to shrug it off and try a different social media. Lemmy isn't the biggest website in the world, but it's one of the best social medias I've used and people here are generally helpful and friendly!

  • Canada. A dozen eggs is worth around $3 USD

  • It's very much subjective to each person! For me it varies based on a person's knowledge and execution of the fundamentals as well as what they're trying to convey. For instance, even though I prefer an airbrushy style when I draw art for myself, I enjoy seeing other people's art that has visible brushstrokes, because it's more fun for me to look at and imagine the artist drawing it based on how the brushstrokes look. Colours are also a big factor and I have my own preferential biases towards greens and turquoises.

The drawing you've presented here has a good composition and bright colours but one thing that stands out to me is the pixelated white edges between the colours and the outlines. This is due to using the paint bucket/fill tool on the same layer, and where your outlines have anti-aliasing. It's easy to remedy this though if you create a separate layer for the colouring and either create a layer below the outlines (be sure that the layer with your outlines is a transparent layer first though!) or create a layer above the outlines (if the layer with your outlines is non-transparent) and select the "Multiply" layer blending mode. This will result in a much cleaner look for the colouring, though I recommend the former option since it's much easier to apply shading and highlighting that way!

I'm always open to offer feedback and give advice to other artists so if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask! 😃

  • Not much if at all. It's around $3 for a dozen eggs, not $10+ like in some places in the US right now.
