  • It's more that both languages are agglutanative, which means they can make new words by mashing together existing ones. A concept that would be two words in English, like "day drinking", would be one in an agglutanative language.

  • You have to translate from CEO double-speak first. What he meant was "Gamers are masochistic morons, so we thought we'd make more sales by making piracy harder than by making the game better. Our launch flopped, so we're going to try it the other way around."

  • Yes, that's how inflation works. Once prices go up, they don't come back down. The only time deflation happens is with Great Depression level events that would cause far more damage than the inflation.

The only way to fight inflation is to slow it down and then have wages rise enough to compensate for the higher prices.

  • What exactly do you think the difference between "announcing" something and posting the data is?

Did they make a blog post? Hell if I know. I went to the data directly. Do you think adjusting for inflation is some complicated thing?

Edit: Here, is this what you want?

  • Yes, they did. They publish data monthly on average hourly earnings of all employees. It doesn't take a master statistician to take that and compare it against CPI-U and see that the average earnings one is now bigger compared against a Jan 2020 baseline. Do you want me to send you my excel from last night?

  • Nope, been alive since Reagan. Obama was a milquetoast do-nothing that cared more about what Republicans thought than the people who actually voted for him. We delivered him a supermajority and what did he do with it? He stripped the public option from Obamacare to please Republicans and then left it out despite not getting a single Republican vote.

  • Cool, what does that have do with Joe Biden's presidency? You know, the one that started Jan 20, 2021 and is the topic of this thread.

Massive systems, like the economy, don't get fixed overnight. It took 40 years to fuck it up as much as it is now and it will probably take nearly as long to unfuck it.
