Meanwhile cancer rates are sky rocketing and we don’t know why.

Perhaps leaning on the conservative side is smarter than going balls out on plastic because we are too ignorant to know the actual effects.

If we find that all the plastic pollution is what’s causing so much cancer then there’s nothing we can do about it because it’s already too late with how prevalent plastic pollution already is.

Pretty much every case of damage due to pollution is caused by ignorance and I don’t see this situation being any different.

Did you even read the article? Jury nullification has nothing to do with being guilty or not. They even say it in the article.

This article doesn’t talk about whether he is guilty or innocent.

So again, how do you have the slightest clue if this guy is guilty or not? Public “opinion” doesn’t matter here.

I’m not even saying that he’s guilty or innocent. But rather NONE of us have the facts. From where you sit you cannot say he is innocent or guilty. Why people sit here and declare he is guilty or innocent is nonsense and it just shows your bias.

Did they have an approved leave of absence with a planned return or did they just fall off the side of the planet and then later just show up?

It’s rare to find a school that would entertain such a thing. I doubt that is the case with those people you’re talking about.

Without a leave of absence you’ll likely need to reapply and get new letters of recommendation , etc. Your chances at that point are pretty low.

It doesn’t work that way. You can’t just come back to a phd program after leaving it. It’s not like undergrad.

Dropping out is dropping out. The reason doesn’t matter in that context.
