99% of people didn't even see chatGPT coming just a few years back.

I really struggle to answer this even though I have this constant feeling of something being wrong. I've been quite lucky with genetics and the things I've wanted to change that can be changed I pretty much already have.

I guess there are two things I'd like to even further improve on:

• I'd like to care less. I like myself the least when I get emotionally captured. I'd like to just be able to let it go and be teflon where nothing sticks.
• I'd like to naturally want to read more.

That's equally unfair as me saying 'I don't see how Harris supporting gender-affirming surgeries for undocumented immigrants in custody' makes people want to vote for her.

I find myself disliking him less this time around than I did in 2016, and I don’t exactly know why. Sure, there’s a ton I disagree with him on, but that applies to both candidates. I guess I have some sympathy for the people in the center who were pushed away by the left and ended up on the right.

No need to worry though - I’m not a US citizen, so I’m not voting for him.

It's you who was suggesting adults of certain age should be banned from social media, not me. You don't get to then say 'It’s all oppression. It’s all wrong.' in the next sentence. You're being a hypocrite.

There's a good reason we don't let kids eat sand, hit their friend, drive cars, vote, watch porn, drink alcohol and smoke tobacco. Their brains are undeveloped. They don't know any better. They're entitled to autonomy when they're capable of it.

It's not the government's job to tell adults to not partake in self-harm. Kids don't know better.

It’s AI that’s doing the matching. I don’t think most people realize how broad the category 'AI' actually is. Just because a system doesn’t meet your false expectations of what you imagined AI to be like doesn’t mean it’s not AI.

No, not because Michael Jackson died, I had my first ever date and got a girlfriend.

I can't think of a single sex scene in a movie that added value to it. They're pointless and akward to both the audience and actors.

I bet there are people who committed suicide after their Tamagotchi died. Jumping into the 'AI bad' narrative because of individual incidents like this is moronic. If you give a pillow to a million people, a few are going to suffocate on it. This is what happens when you scale something up enough, and it proves absolutely nothing.

The same logic applies to self-driving vehicles. We’ll likely never reach a point where accidents stop happening entirely. Even if we replaced every human-driven vehicle with a self-driving one that’s 10 times safer than a human, we’d still see 8 people dying because of them every day in the US alone. Imagine posting articles about those incidents and complaining they’re not 100% safe. What’s the alternative? Going back to human drivers and 80 deaths a day?

Yes, we should strive to improve. Yes, we should try to fix the issues that can be fixed. No, I’m not saying 'who cares' - and so on with the strawmans I'm going to receive for this. All I’m saying is that we should be reasonable and use some damn common sense when reacting to these outrage-inducing, fear-mongering articles that are only after your attention and clicks.

I love welding. One of my favourite things to do in my previous job. I'm highly skilled at oxy-acetylene welding steel pipes in really tight and difficult places but my favourite one was TiG welding stainless steel with automatic and ventilated mask while listening to podcasts. Really meditative just being in your own bubble staring at the bright spot of molten metal.

OP seems to be talking about generative AI rather than AI broadly. Personally I have three main uses for it:

• It has effectively replaced google for me.
• Image generation enables me to create pictures I've always wanted to but never had the patience to practise.
• I find myself talking with it more than I talk with my friends. They don't seem interested in anything I'm but chatGPT atleast pretends to be

I see what you’re saying, but I think in this case it’s different enough from the original artwork that, if this were to go through in court, it would open the floodgates for a ton of similar lawsuits and set a bad precedent. They absolutely acted in bad faith here, as it’s immediately obvious which scene they’re mimicking, but I just don’t see enough similarity for copyright infringement. It’s quite different from Trump using actual songs from artists without permission - this isn’t the actual scene from the movie.
