  • Not every user needs to be running every distro, that's why they make sense in the first place.

There are plenty of beginner friendly distros out there.

I'm not against improvement, but making every distro so easy for anyone to use isn't the goal.

I don't recommend Debian for beginners, but it has its place for many usecases.

  • If a user doesn't understand that having complete control over every device in your network is essential, he's being a complete moron with computers.

You should do your work, not worrying about patching all the 128 tools you think you need, that's other peoples job.

  • They still have valuable data, they collect how interesting something is, so you're even contributing to the algorithm and you essentially advertise videos you're watching to other users with similar interests on the platform. People without adblock will come plenty.

That ad blocking on Youtube makes you a worthless user for anyone on there is just not true.

  • The advantage of scraping is that it can't be really blocked if you make your private instance and you don't have to follow API ToS, the disadvantage is that it can easily break with little changes of the Youtube UI.

  • I even completely switched from ReVanced to Clipious + private Invidious instance, it's snappy and flawless.

You can even redirect any Youtube link to an Invidious instance automatically with libRedirect, living the dream.
