  • I don't know anything about programming but I got Deepseek to help me write a simple python program that downloads the audio from the latest youtube video on a channel doubles the speed while keeping the pitch correct and then saves it on my mp3 player so I can listen to it on my morning walk.

There's lots of room for improvement but I think my strategy for waiting for computers to learn to program instead of learning to program myself seems to be close to working out.

  • They blame the communists because they were one side of the conflicts and the other side was supported by their new home, usa. Can't talk shit about your host's friends if you don't want to get tossed out.

  • Not so much Puerto Rico but many other central american countries got significantly more dangerous and poorer when they started exploring communism. usa would pump the far right with weapons and do black ops for them while the communists tried to resist. The people who fled to usa blamed the communists. They told stories of the ebil commies, first just to gain sympathy from americans and later to signal that they were "the good ones." but over time and generations they came to really believe their lies.

  • I read somewhere that while Traoré was in Russia there was a significant assault by terrorists. (feels weird to use that word legitimately instead of ironically) I think it's kinda funny because the west really wants to give them the Libya treatment but they know they couldn't get away with it these days.

  • I'm sure it might be ok on less contentious subjects but most of the time I end up on quora it is a dead end of reactionary garbage. Lots of the answers are conspiratorial, ahistorical, or just a twisted version of truth. Maybe 10% of the time I end up on quora I find an answer that is reasonable.

But that doesn't stop me from looking.

  • Accusations of forced labor in Xinjiang have never been substantiated in the decades they have been floating around. Yet companies are still being sanctioned even after extensive investigations. The entire "genocide" in Xinjiang was concocted by a nazi apologist and there is no evidence to back it up.

Publishing a story about a bunch of ngo grifters crying because they think maybe some solar panels might have been made in a place that they heard has slaves with no evidence of any of it is just pathetic. That isn't journalism.

  • Every spring since I started gardening the right time to plant veggies changes drastically. I have to do a vibe check and even then it's a crap shoot on whether I got it in too early or too late. If my potatoes don't get flooded my late crop of beets gets blasted by a heatwave just as they sprout. Every year I either get more water storage for the garden or I plant less to make the water go farther but its never enough.

  • I was just thinking about how great hitlers mustache is. Not that it makes him look cool or anything but that it really made him stand out. That stupid little patch of hair saved 1 in 50 white european of men from having to live their lives looking like hitler.

  • You should should lean into it.

Tell him you listened to what he was saying about pepa pig and that its worse than he seems to know. Its Nazis that are doing the brainwashing and they are hiding in the CIA. Then dump the skinny on MKUltra/Galidio/Congress for Cultural Freedom and all the shifty stuff the CIA got up to under Richard Helms the nazi lover who was a lead negotiator on project paperclip.
