  • Those packets are real nice sprinkled on bread rolls btw, also great in most kinds of stir fry / pan fry.

You should know if you have any of those real puffy pink ones, they're particularly good.

  • This Rick Fuze is possibly the most pathetic creature I have ever heard of.

I can't remember ever hearing of or witnessing anything quite this pointlessly mean spirited, weak, stupid, and regrettable.

I mean, when you attack a senior citizen, the best outcome as far as I'm concerned is obviously that the attacker loses. But for it to have actually happened, and in circumstances like this? Absolutely incredible.

  • Next war plan is going to happen in an X thread. They're gonna @ eachother about seizing Toronto and nuking Vancouver.

They'll launch the nuke from a submarine, They'll trigger their own warning system, they'll panic, they'll think it's a Japanese nuke, they'll launch retaliatory strikes, the Philippines will be unrecognizable.

The Toronto invasion force won't have crossed the border before the entire admin is in bunkers and not communicating. They'll be an army on standby to invade an ally, and they'll hear the admin atomically spooked itself into giving China their sea claims in the worst way, a way nobody is happy with.

Democrats will respond by suggesting that other Democrats should consider launching an investigation on an accelerated timeline, with only 3 short months (~0.903 Metric months) to be completed and brought before a committee hearing that already has three notices that members will be absent, unable to attend due to family functions and vacation plans.

Streaming revenues will be stable, Call of Duty MAUs will not fluctuate notably, Starbucks will close 8 locations, most celebrities will be done tweeting/blueskying about how it's fucked up. JD Vance will call someone the N word on live TV to thunderous applause.

  • I recently saw Adam Savage's site was selling demerit patches for the workshop.

I think it would be funny to see a bunch of military demerit patches designed for the dumb shit Hegseth does. They could be sewn to his prison shirt if y'all manage to get him in prison eventually.

  • I'd think we could probably engineer similarly insanely capable biotech if we were completely reckless, committed a serious fraction of our resources and people, and had infinite Earths to ruin in the process.

I'm not sure how GMO's are handled, but I'm guessing it's a quite restrictive on the engineering side and somewhat cautious in implementation.

  • Imagine aliens that don't have anything like trees.

    They'd be so fucking jealous.

Imagine being born on a world made of just mostly slimy grasslands, with bare rock and deserts and a shallow sea full of parasites. And the atmosphere is awful, so running a marathon would be like physically impossible. Actually, besides the dry parts, that kinda sounds like Florida... At least Florida has trees, though. Imagine how shit Florida would be without any trees at all.

  • Is that device meant to alleviate SDS symptoms at all? I'd be interested to see any studies on it if there are any, if you could tell me what it's called or point me to the research it would be much appreciated.

We're looking at all the options we can for our severely SDS afflicted SIC.

  • It's pretty likely they've heard of it as a niche option, as a forgettable factoid years ago.

Then they may also have learned it's a very small platform and something about decentralization.

if they went to sign up regardless, it seems likely they didn't end up picking an instance. (Possibly having left the page open, briefly looked up Mastodon instances and read a few sentences, then moved on to something else.)

Now that they wouldn't have had to pick an instance, they've long forgotten about it, maybe you could get them to try the normalized sign up process.

But anyone who knows anything about people knew from the start that Mastodon wasn't really even aiming for successful growth. Of course the instances were gonna be an obstacle.
