  • Yeah. There's also the fact that they can read our fucking comments and know exactly what we think of them. If we think we're belittling them privately and manipulating them elegantly; We aren't.

    I'll also say this: Trump vs. Kamala should've been an easy win for Kamala. Y'all fucked up.

  • I mean yeah, on one hand wtf did he expect? Of course Trump was going to do stupid shit. The man is incredibly stupid.

    On the other hand, Trump is also very cruel and this is incredibly important. It's not funny.

    Every Republican that turns against him makes the insane ideas a little less likely to go through. Less likely to try for a 3rd term, less likely to commit fully to the El Salvador concentration camp ambitions, less likely to disappear as many American citizens without trial, less likely to do a bunch of truly horribly gruesome and catastrophic shit.

    You won't win by mocking them for joining you. You're being more stupid than you can afford to be in these circumstances.

  • I feel like there's a bit of a misunderstanding here.

    When I say a "general" community, I mean one that accepts literally any submission category from politics and rants to random images and screenshots and video links about any topic. Likely with only basic limitations like NSFW and hate speech.

    I'll also add I very strongly disagree with point 6. I really dislike that kind of opposition towards growing Lemmy. Prioritizing principles over growth? Sure. But being actively in opposition to accepting normies and coming into a mainstream position as the new way to do forums on the internet is, I believe, fundamentally also in opposition to the whole purpose of the project. Lemmy has no point if it is not to replace the structure of Reddit, whether it be Lemmy itself or a prototype for a bigger and better successor to bring some good future permutation of the Fediverse to the forefront.

    That's the normal size from typical European fast food pizzerias. If you eat those, like I sometimes have, then you're overeating by a lot.

  • Yeah I posted about that shit a long time ago, I knew people weren't gonna respond, we all saw the numbers. It had the momentum of fucking syrup.

    They deserve to get their games deleted. I hope they get real fucking mad about it. Impotent rage, just completely red faced, making little comments and posts here and there pleading and wilding out, writing nasty shit, getting a fucking aneurysm.

    Then giving up and moving on, accepting how powerless they are, despite not really being powerless at all. That's the real tragedy of it.
