  • Assuming you are asking in good faith. The Christian/Evangelicals are the prominent group of people screaming about values and banning drag and other things they hate (LGBTQ, healthcare/abortion, immigration, voting, etc), while simultaneously being seemingly ok with stuff like this. It is quite blatantly hypocritical. It's all projection and hypocrisy and bigotry.

  • I guess they are flipping themselves off for being so dumb?

  • I saw that in theaters and it was one of the maybe two movies I've walked out of. It was so pointlessly depressing and just not enjoyable to us so we bailed.

Donnie is much better. Depressing? Yeah in a way, but also much more engaging and enjoyable.

  • Did you watch the theatrical or directors cut? The latter explains a LOT more.

TL;DW If I remember it all correctly. The plane crash caused a "Final Destination"-esque rift in spacetime? Or fate? Or reality? And Donnie should have died, but didn't and because he didn't the universe will implode unless he fixes it in time by dying. He also gains powers to see the future as part of the deal (represented by the weird trails in front of people walking) and he realizes the future is everything ending unless he dies to seal up the rift. Frank, the bunny is like a guide or messenger or something.

  • Crayons become the default.

  • Soon: All ballpoint pens have a microscopic tracking code embossed into the ball like a stamp.

  • If they do at least that's half a billion less they can donate into PACs and such.

  • Go look up the Paradox of Tolerance.

The moment a person or country breaches the societal contract of mutual peace and tolerance they have simultaneously revoked their right to the same.

We can live together peacefully, but if you start throwing punches I have every right to fight back until you stop. It's that simple.

Religions and religion based governments that want to genocide others shouldn't be tolerated.

  • Same. I played MC in early Alpha when you could play free in a web browser. And then I used a cracked game for another year or so. Once I had adult money I bought it. I've since bought it probably 6+ times over between Java, Bedrock, consoles, mobile and accounts for my kids.

I probably would never have bought it otherwise, or at least not for a long time.

  • I think most people would consider things like, working over 40 hours when you are salaried, routinely doing someone else's job in addition to yours (like fixing their mistakes TOO much), skipping your lunch breaks to work.

Don't get me wrong, doing those things SOMETIMES is ok. It's when it becomes expected or ongoing that it's a problem. Because no company is ever going to say "You are generating more profit for us at your own expense, slow down."

  • If there's so much helium inside the earth, then why doesn't the earth float away?

  • I think you meant to say #genocideNetanyahu. But that doesn't sound as catchy and doesn't push whatever deluded maga narrative you wish was reality. You want so badly to vilify anyone that isn't your fascist leader that you'll blame a genocide perpetrated by another country on him. Wild.

But also, fuck Biden for not condemning Netanyahu and Israel on day 1. Genocide is never ok. And sending support to someone doing it is horrendous, but it is not the same as doing it.

  • Biden could and SHOULD do a whole lot more to pressure Israel to end it. He should have said to stop on day 1.

But any aid or supplies we do or don't send to them wouldn't make a difference. They have an entire arsenal of military options and resources and have all the control and power over Gaza.

  • I like this idea. It crowdsources the "fingerprint" of the ads themselves. So as more and more people get the same exact ad, and then tag it, it would be easier to skip that one. So it would reduce the same annoying ads from playing in, this Lemmy post is brought to you by BetterHelp talk to real live therapists about your podcast woes now, the middle of what you are focusing on. If it got big it would make advertisers change their format, but that would be good, less of the canned ads and maybe something more organic and less jarring.

  • It's been a long time since I read it.

The part at the end of time where all that remains is a dying crab on a desolate beach?

I don't remember the details, but the feelings and emotions that end of time nothingness and death of all things left is still with me... It is sad and lonely and depressing and empty feeling. Same with thinking about the eventual "Heat Death of the Universe".

  • I don't disagree with you, however even this chart is probably biased because everyone drives at or above posted limits. Once you lower all the limits this chart will shift left, however, the slower you are moving the more reaction time you have and accidents that do occur are less fatal or destructive, so maybe in the end it will reduce accidents. I will be curious to see after a few months or a year of data.

  • Oh my God they were roommates.

  • I played Stars! too! I simply adored that game. Who knows how many thousands of hours I spent as a kid on it. It somehow engaged whatever flavor of ADHD/Tism I have and I could get lost for days on it. It's funny, but even back then the graphics were absurdly simple, but we didn't care, the gameplay and complexity was so enthralling. Most of the game was just basic geometric shapes and numbers on a map, which seems hilarious now, but to me it proves that gameplay > graphics. Graphics can help, but the gameplay MUST be there first and foremost.

  • It was all about the same kid.
