  • This just in: People guilty of thing are accused of doing the thing.

No shit. It's their fault. SCOTUS and GOP should be blamed.

  • Bill Stickers is innocent!

  • Star Trek has a large autistic fanbase? I mean I know we're a bunch of nerds but...

  • But, Undertale is already on here. And you can pretty much lump the two together.

  • My best guess is that it's either for samples from the surface (though we have seen multiple cases where those were beamed directly onto the main pad or in the cargo hold)

    OR

possibly a tools or weapons grade replicator.

The transporter is a vital component on the ship like the engines and requires constant maintenance so maybe they figured it was easier just to have something like that in there to make quick/easy access for replicating the tools they needed when/as they needed it instead of lugging it around.

  • To be fair, there was an episode of KotH where Bobby and Peggy discover that charcoal was actually superior to propane when it came to taste. It was a whole big thing and hilarious to watch them try to keep it a secret from Hank lol

  • "Everyone who disagrees with me is a troll" - terrible take.

That take of that take is a terrible take. In fact, it's a circular argument because one could argue that you are, yourself, overgeneralizing anyone who has a dissenting opinion from your own.

People are allowed to like or dislike what they like or dislike. If you feel marginalized because your opinion is unpopular, whining about it doesn't/won't change anyone's minds.

  • Ridiculous. I am definitely not going to be going there or bookmarking it. In fact, I'm going to go there right now just so I can see exactly why I won't be going there.

  • Not to be the fly in the ointment, but you can't really just add those up and expect that number to be accurate if we're trying to look at unique users within the fediverse. If I had to hazard a guess, a not-so-insignificant chunk of those probably overlap (i.e. users who have made multiple accounts across several instances). I have made an account across lemmy.world, lemmy.ml, kbin and fedia just as backups in case one instance fails. I might be an extreme case having 4, but pretty sure it's becoming increasingly common for people to have at least 2 accounts (1 on a different instance).

  • It's a clean burning fuel I tell you hwat

  • On the flip side, anytime I've tried to use it to write python scripts for me, it always seems to get them slightly wrong. Nothing that a little troubleshooting can't handle, and certainly helps to get me in the ballpark of what I'm looking for, but I think it still has a little ways to go for specific coding use cases.

  • That's right, the karma is just like the salad bar at an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet

  • I'm not very tech savvy when it comes to this, but would it have anything to do with the anti-bot stuff that lemmy.ml has implemented in the sign-up process? You now have to answer a few questions and basically write your reason for making an account before it lets you even submit the request for review.

  • I really REALLY hate to bring up Reddit since I know everyone is sick of hearing about it, but this is just like when Subreddits were determining whether or not to go dark and some of the more popular ones opted to just say or do nothing because they didn't want to go against the grain.

FFS I wish people would grow a pair and fight back.

  • Why let them have all that content you provided though? Don't get me wrong what you all do with your accounts is your business. I'm not about to be that person that comes barging in with "YOU NEED TO DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT", but if it helps lend any credibility to what I have to say - I was on there for over a decade with over 150k karma (99% of that comment karma so I participated a lot in discussions over the years) and as difficult as it was, I deleted my post/comment history and then my account. I don't want to support them by allowing them to profit off of my free labor/efforts.

Not saying every single comment I made was gold or worth much, but if it helps them to pump up their numbers for advertisers/stockholders then I'd just as soon remove my contribution.
