It is the case that OP wants to use features such as VRR, and HDR. It is also the case that gnome supports neither. And also the case that KDE now has official support for both VRR, and HDR. Thus, OP has made the choice to use KDE, because it suits his gaming needs.

KDE now supports those things....

Unraid is the GOAT when it comes to being headless for docker. They know how to walk the fine line of "this is too much. It's bloat," and "this is minimal and bare bones." I seriously can't hype them enough, and can't do justice to describing their ease of use.

I like how it says "could," when it's been a known fact for awhile now, that they do this.

Definitely a little bit of overkill. But still overall fantastic budget, and do it all setup. Competitive shooters, movies, and music all sound fantastic.

My next goal is a multibit DAC + tube only amp -> something like a HD 6XX. Or maybe a good solid state -> planar magnetic headphones.

I reinstalled EndeavourOS on my main desktop yesterday, fresh install, just for Plasma 6. So far, big worth it even though I have a lot to set up still.

Both V and 2042 have come a long way since their releases. Not as good as peak 4, but still very enjoyable.

I second both your recommendations. I JUST installed Bazzite, which is a tweaked Silverblue for gaming, yesterday. I can already tell atomic style distros are going to be the future.

This x1000. If you want a good arch experience, without doing the install yourself, EndeavorOS is the way to go. Just whatever you do, stay away from Manjaro unless you want problems.

I've tried tons of Arch distros over the years out of laziness, once I already had success manually installing it myself.

At that point why not go immutable distros? Like atomic Fedoras, or Bazzite for if you're a gamer.

I have an oDroid N2+ with CoreELEC (arm Linux for booting into Kodi) that I use to stream content from my home server. It's honestly the best setup I've ever used. If a streaming service is needed, my TV runs on Android with a TV specific launcher.
