Is there a good way to browse instances? (Particularly through Boost?)
Also, what are the instances.... literally? Like, I've never seen social media have groups like this (tied to the account, and separate from the communities, that is)
If such fears were officials' genuine motivation, one could hope that broader data-privacy regulation might follow
This is what blows it out of the water for me. When the TikTok ban was first floated a few years ago, I liked the sound of legislation to protect user data. But that's not what it's about; where's the new regulations? The new protections? What consequences will Twitter and Facebook and Instagram face? No where, no where, none, none, none. It's not about protecting Americans from the CCP, it's about stopping the CCP from getting in on their game
What exactly are instances? I picked one at random that claimed to be "general purpose" because I didn't know what I was doing (I migrated very recently)
I think people who say that are thinking "ACAB" means "every single one is a bad person" (an easy to disprove hyperbole) instead of "it's literally their job to reinforce the current system, which is broken"
