  • That's what I was thinking, like my sleep is shit but I know it's my fault because I hop into bed and proceed to cycle between youtube shorts, Lemmy and d&d sourcebooks on my bright-ass phone for hours. Bonus points for a blue light filter cranked all the way up so I feel better about giving my future self dementia due to sleep deprevation

  • Exactly, to use a bizarre example it illegal to trade onions on the futures market specifically but the bill that law is in has broader language curtailing market manipulation through supply hoarding. If the right to repair gets written up it will set precedent

  • It's Greek for, "come and take them", it's American for, "I'm insecure about the size of my penis and need to make it everyone else's problem using a deadly weapon to subsidize my shitty personality"

  • Fucking Guardian....Hints?!? He might as well be using every side of every skyscraper in New York to advertise that he will think of himself and act like a facistic dictator free from consequence upon election. To say anything less is irresponsible at best

  • Same goes for homesteaders, when you have just undeveloped land, building then living in a super big house is kinda a waste. Dream scenario for me personally is to have a smaller house on a good plot of land about 15-30 minutes of driving away from town. I want to be far enough so I get the benefits of being a bit further from everything without having to make the trip into town only a monthly thing

  • Apps are super efficient just not for the consumer. Not only do they get our money through buying their overpriced product they can sell the "depersonalized" data they scraped while you were using the app

  • It does take longer yeah but no its actually cleaner than at least the way I was doing it which was just to plunge it down real slow right after the brew. I'm not a coffee expert myself but I think the extra bitter compounds find their way to the bottom along with that coffee ground sludge leaving the coffee nice and clean as long as you dont pour out that last little but of liquid at the end. It's also a lot closer to comfortable drinking temperature after that second phase so you can start drinking it pretty much right away
