  • The full report is interesting. I was going to argue about minimum wage increases, but the report already accounted for that by highlighting significant wage growth for the lowest percentile in states that still followed federal minimum wage.

Still, it'd be nice to know what the absolute values are. % are less impactful with lower numbers.

  • Yep. The winning strategy has been shown by democratic wins in purple states last November. Virginia was a very even race and the Dems took back the legislature without even mentioning threat to Democracy. The issues matter and the GOP has provided more than enough ammunition to point out why they're the wrong choice for those issues.

  • I had to stop reading the article here:

"There is nothing in Senators Johnson and Grassley’s reports on Biden family corruption that has ever proven to be untrue,” the spokesperson said. “

This is the kind of nonsense we have to legitimately call out. The accusations need to be proven true in the first place. The spokesperson is especially silly since they also called Parnas statements a lie... Without providing proof themselves.

  • It's likely he pulled it out of his ass, much like a lot of the headlines he throws up.

The mission-capable rate is 55 percent, but that definition is for a single-task mission. Considering the F-35 is meant to have multiple missions, the report is a bit damning on the supply issue. However, the report is meant to highlight the issues so that the military can take over supply and maintenance in 2027. And a lot of the issues are lack of supply and depots for maintenance.

The $1.7 trillion is an estimated cost over the lifecycle of the entire F-35 fleet of 2500 planes. The F-22 first flew in 1990 and entered service in 2005. So 20-30 years would be a decent lifecycle. The math for the F-35, using 20 year lifecycle, comes out to about $65 billion/yr for 2500 planes or $26 million/yr per plane. Part of the report is also providing recommendations on lowering maintenance costs.

It's still a lot of money, but when we're talking decades, we need to put that into perspective when healthcare spending in the US is $4.5 trillion per year.

  • The article doesn't provide the poll and doesn't reference any numbers, just three names. Schiff, Porter, and Garvey. Seeing as how Garvey is the only Republican, and how blue California is, it is more likely that the poll shows Garvey in top because there is still a primary and the polls are split on the Democrat side.

  • Tinfoil hat time.

These are all memes created and disseminated by GOP-affiliates trying to make Taylor Swift look bad in hopes that her influence on young voters (who are generally are more environmental friendly) to go out and vote in the upcoming Presidential elections won't be as impactful.

  • You should learn context clues to know I was directly commenting on the previous poster about China's bullying of Philippine fishermen.

As for Kinmen island itself, it is Taiwan's. The main Kinmen island is 7km from the mainland. The article doesn't say where the fishermen were in relation to the island.

  • No... Because China is claiming an island that is nowhere near their internationally recognized borders and on an island they don't even have people on...

In this case, Chinese fisherman were within Taiwans EEZ. And their boat capsized as they tried to flee.

  • Yeah, then you want to utilize the Multi Account Containers extension. And I would recommend the Tree Style Tab alongside it but I know sidebar tabs aren't everyone's thing.

I've been using these two a lot. And I have to have not only multiple O365 profiles, but multiple AWS sessions as well. You can even set the containers up so that certain urls only open in specific containers.

  • What's the goal with the profiles? Is it to keep separate sessions or keep separate accounts with specific bookmarks?

I use Firefox and there are 5 extensions I install every time and two of those are Containers and Tree Style Tab.
