  • No, i have to admit, I'm trying to gauge what people actually believe. I understand morality can't be summed up into a set of infallible rules and it's incredibly hard to teach everyone the ethical frameworks necessary to determine true moral justification for any given situation. The argument about personal liberty is just one that everyone has to reckon with and I'm curious if people still come to the same conclusions I always have.

  • I know surefire improvements we can make to the way things are now better. I don't trust anyone with the authority required to force socialism/communism on a hostile populace.

So, I'm actually quite reasoned if you were honest with yourself.

  • Oh yeah, you're right. I lost the thread. Don't mind me, sorry. Im seriously sorry.

  • Show me how I'm not being proactive enough.

  • Know the exact type of moderation the_donald subscribed to? I witnessed it.

  • Lead is probably why right wing media is overtly aggressive.

I think they would morph into whatever if the populace was decidedly more docile.

You miss the point if you try to attribute authoritarianism to one single cause. The dominant force will always try to subvert all others in autocracy.

Christianity, for example, can be anything. You can be a selfless servant of God "spreading the good news" and evangelizing the meek with Christian morality. You can also be a tyrant enacting gods wrath on the soulless heathens.

  • I was talking about this with my wife. I'd live in a socialist or communist run government, at least the one they fantasize about, but I would never live long enough to see it enacted, as leftists envision.

So in my mind I have two choices that aren't exactly mutually exclusive:

1.) Openly support communism without thought about what the final outcome of that may actually be because I won't be alive to guide it (as if I'd have much say).

2.) Just keep working to make the world I live in better

Both are fine options and I can do both but they would have me chose the former and exclude the latter.

  • I'm just so impressed by them. Forgoing all forms of capitalism so they are not totally responsible for the outcomes of capitalist society. It's a principled stance but living in stateless, technology absent, collectives outside the rule of the government is not an easy life.

  • Idgaf about etiquette. Are you only here because trump was rude to the pope?

  • Bad day? They unjustly labeled me liberal and there is no shot if I say anything there again I wont be banned again. If you say they banned me because I am admittedly liberal then they'll still never let me post there again.

  • I didn't break the rules. Pointing out they are ban happy like the_Donald is just facts.

  • I just wanted to know why they would unban me. Seems superfluous

If an alien lifeform came to understand what capitalism was what morals would they attribute to people living under it?

You've been given the power to remove anyone, who was alive before you were born, from the timeline. How do you use this power without inadvertently making it so you were never born?

After receiving an upvote it should get exponentially harder to give more. Like votes 1-10 you have to double click; 10-20 triple click... At 100 you have to do a captcha. Just keep adding obstacles.

If you get in the habit of occasionally posting unpopular opinions youll notice sometimes you attract people who will reverse troll you, upvoting your entire post history.
