An inherent characteristic of any satellite in low earth orbit is that they will burn up without maintenance. This is because there is significant drag on LEO satellites from a very, very thin atmospheric remnant. Anything in a LEO orbit will burn up eventually, without periodic boost from thrusters.
I don't get what you're saying, OP. Are you saying Democrats are supposed to be all saints? Or that they're bad for not shielding people like Menendez from investigation? Or are you trying to pretend this is a systemic problem?
Sports game ended, the bands of both teams kept playing while fans left. Cops walked up and demanded they both stop for some reason even though it's standard for them to play at the end of the game. Other team stopped, his didn't, so for some reason they tased and arrested him.
no, just simple reprocessing. Breeder reactors are even better and can generate fuel from u-238, but wouldn't be necessary for several centuries at least
I think the 50 year number comes from anti nuclear activists, there's about 8 million tons of uranium out there only considering proven reserves, if we restarted prospecting we could find more
if you're desalinating anyways and reprocessing spent fuel you don't need much, the average nuclear plant needs 27 tons per year per 1000 MW of capacity, and 95% of that can be recycled without breeder reactors
Yes, that's my point. There's no capability within Lemmy to effectively screen out bad actors. It's all dependent on volunteer admins, and when you're trying to play whack a mole with malicious instances and people bouncing their accounts around between legitimate instances, it becomes basically impossible.
Not saying that the fediverse is a bad idea. I like it. But this is a key potential downside, and if lemmy and other fediverse clients become popular enough, we will see widespread botting, and it will be an issue.
Rich billionaire diddles teens. Gets caught, eventually, when the bribes and deals run out. Tries to kill himself in jail. Fails, gets put on suicide watch. Fights via his lawyers to get taken off of suicide watch, succeeds, immediately kills himself.
Dude treated life like an abusive roller coaster and got off when it stopped being fun. No conspiracies needed.
While the bolshevists coopted the unions and turned them into agents of the Party, corrupting them from representative bodies into people spying on the working class for disloyalty
Dude there's a reason I have Connect tell me whenever I'm talking to some jackass from Lemmygrad or Hexbear
If you want respect, probably shouldn't embrace an ideology of oppression. I don't tolerate tankies for the same reason I don't tolerate Nazis.
