  • Usually what Israel does is counter artillery action and maybe some airstrikes. They haven't actually invaded in a while. I expect that's what's going to happen this time around too, they're likely mostly focused on Gaza.

  • Lebanon is a failed/failing state with a weak centralized government that can't exercise total control over the nation, but it's also a super diverse country. Just saying, it's a minority of the population which supports Hezbollah, it's just not a minority which can be suppressed since they receive extensive military support from Iran and Syria. If they tried, it'd be the Lebanese Civil War again

  • Point here, it wasn't Lebanon, it was Hezbollah. Hezbollah is tolerated within Lebanon because of a weak Lebanese central government, but they're still a militia within Lebanon, not Lebanon itself. They more or less represent the Iranian-aligned portion of Lebanese Shiite Muslims, not Lebanese Christians or Sunni Muslims.

  • Strange fucking genocide. And as to whether the land was stolen, I'm sorry, but at this point, it doesn't matter. There was a partition plan, the Arabs wouldn't accept it, fought a bunch of wars, and got their shit kicked in. FAFO.

  • Yes, yes, let's all have sympathy for the genocidal terrorists in Gaza! If we only let all of them into Israel and allow them to murder or ethnically cleanse every single Jew in Israel and Palestine, there'll be peace.

  • Hamas is the government of Gaza. If I was a Gazan, I might hate Israel, too, but I wouldn't support Hamas, which has as its mission a genocide of all Israelis. I would also understand that for any chance of peace, opposing genocidal monsters is absolutely essential.

There is no solution to the problem of what to do with Gaza until Hamas is dead. And no people can choose to make that happen until the Gazans choose to stop supporting them. Until that happens, the most reasonable course of action for Israel is to deny Hamas the means to murder Israeli civilians.
