  • I checked a couple but none were found if I included the area code.

Based on my sample size of half a dozen phone numbers, it doesnt seem to have numbers once they are more than 8 digits.

Seems like there should some formula to determine how long the normal number needs to be to have all digits go to a certain length.

Reminds me of the formula for calculating the shortest path to watch all episodes in a tv series in all possible orders.

  • Imagine trying to explain high school bully culture to someone 2000 years from now.

"So, the dumbest people pick on the smartest people and culturally it not only accepted but encouraged..." -- no one would believe you.

  • Ideally, you should be joining a cooperative, guild, and unionize. Let companies consult to you.

Feels like this is where it needs to head. This isn't material different than going through a recruiting agency except those agency charges +20% of the starting salary.

The idea is the same though. People form relationships with the third party group and the third party group puts their reputation on the line when suggesting candidates.

  • Parents are humans with their own flaws and backstories. They've had (presumably) 20 years of the worlds bullshit flung at them before you entered the picture.

This sort of sentiment is fine to say parent to parent but parent to child it is a massive cop out.

"I had to put up with this bullshit, so you do to" is terrible parent.

It's not acceptable for a parent to forward the world's bullshit onto their child.

  • If we had AGI, the number of jobs that would be at risk would be enormous. But these LLMs aren't it.

They are language models and until someone can replace that second L with Logic, no amount of layering is going to get us there.

Those layers are basically all the previous AI techniques laid over the top of an LLM but anyone that has a basic understanding of languages can tell you how illogical they are.

  • I do as a software engineer. The fad will collapse. Software engineering hiring will increase but the pipeline of new engineers will is dry because no one wants to enter the career with companies hanging ai over everyone's heads. Basic supply and demand says my skillset will become more valuable.

Someone will need to clean up the ai slop. I've already had similar pistons where I was brought into clean up code bases that failed being outsourced.

Ai is simply the next iteration. The problem is always the same business doesn't know what they really want and need and have no ability to assess what has been delivered.
