  • Even if they eventually decide not to undergo those procedures, all you habr to do is take them off the blockers and they'd undergo puberty as normal. There's not all that much downside for an awful lot of upside for those in need.

Is that actually true? Do those medications actually permanently prevent puberty after a certain point?

  • Alt caption: "Why do we have so many refugees and economic migrants?"

Beginning to think that if we helped Africa prosper, we wouldn't have whole fleets of boats and dinghies crossing the Mediterranean.

  • Out of the three, I only think room-temperature superconductors are possible for humanity to achieve within our lifetimes. Fusion would require unfathomable amounts of energy to kickstart.

  • I only heard about Worldcoin from some guy chatting to me about it in the pub. I thought it was just some Ponzi scheme coined up by a random grifting crypto-bro, not the CEO of OpenAI...

  • The only times I'd excuse piracy are if the original product is outright unavailable in your region, or if digital rights management leads to a vastly inferior or unusable product for paying users (i.e. strict installation limits, always-online DRM in a single player game.)

I don't condone pirating Minecraft, regardless of Microsoft's anti-consumer bullshit.

  • This year, I either want to go on a seaside holiday to Southern France (Nice, Marseille or Biarritz), or return to Germany. Went to Leipzig and Dresden last time I went and I want to visit my half-American friend again.

  • I had an old Alpha account. I missed the migration window out of a mix of laziness and not really checking my email.

Surely this cannot be legal and all this shit about forced arbitration cannot hold up in a British court?

  • After the IPO, Reddit stock plummets and Steve Huffman leaves with a big payout. Reddit Inc appoints a new CEO who starts to push deeply unpopular changes in the name of turning a profit. There is a major exodus to other platforms.

Reddit goes the way of Digg v4.

  • Do you work for a large chain? I think that your head office would have a fucking field day if they found out that your manager was expecting mere store assistants to confront potentially armed and dangerous shoplifters.

If you were to get shanked that would be a H&S lawsuit in the making.

Would almost be tempted to make an anonymous tip to the head office about what's been going on.

  • Launching Windows 11 in the midst of a semiconductor shortage was such a dumb move on Microsoft's part, especially when 11 doesn't really offer that much more than 10. The only real 'groundbreaking' new feature (multiple desktops) was something that Linux had fifteen years ago.

  • I have plenty of stories from when I used to work in purchase ledger and customer service.

Klick2Contact is the biggest piece of shit I've ever used. Imagine a CRM that randomly crashes and loses your tickets, and where it can take several minutes to assign an email to yourself. Now imagine having to use software that bad whilst logging cases on a separate CRM (because K2C wasn't fit for purpose) and answering emails within a 10 minute SLA.

Best I used in terms of call centre software was Salesforce. Ironically it's not specifically designed as a CRM.

Part of the reason I got fired from my old call centre job was trying to deal with K2C.

Worst enterprise level accountancy software I used was probably a tie between JD Edwards and OpenAccounts. Best accounting software was definitely Xero.
