  • I still think the PS2 had the best looking and at the time most radical design. 1 was cool and iconic. 3 was just ugly. 4 ok, The current design looks cool but is extremely impractical.

Of Nintendo I liked the European SNES, Gameboy Color and DS Lite. N64 is dear to my heart but it was not good looking and the controller was horrendous.

  • So it doesn’t exactly fit but the first job I got after my training was, as I found out later, just a stand-in for someone else who had more experience but couldn’t join until about a month or two later. So I was supposed to be fired during probation once he joined. My coworker, who was already unhappy with his job, found out about it and quit right before the arrival of the other guy to make room for me (my hero!). So I took his place and my boss was stuck with me being there. A few months later my (new) coworker and me (and a few others) quit at around the same time because it became unbearable to work at this place.

  • I started the tradition with my parents and brother of saving money over the year for charity. We put up a jar at my parents house and whenever we visit and have money to spare (which for me is a fixed amount that I put aside every month), it goes into the jar. On christmas the money is split evenly among us and everyone tells which cause/organization they are going to donate their part to.

The jar thing is not ideal because I rarely have cash on me so I always have to go to the bank first and then when it’s time to donate, the cash money has to go back into the bank. But it’s nice to look at and it doesn’t tell exactly how much is in it from a glance, so it’s a bit of a mystery until Christmas. I might propose to go digital for next year though.

  • Based on your most listened, maybe try Little Simz, clipping, Fantasic Negrito (Album: Last Days of Oakland)

For something maybe a little outside the box I recommend The Books, Gramatik, Pretty Lights, Cosmo Sheldrake

  • Educate yourself about what smoking does to your body. Imagine it on every inhale. Make yourself really hate it. Set a specific end date in the near future (but keep it to yourself, you don’t need outside pressure). In the meantime continue thinking about how much you hate smoking. Then stop cold turkey.

If you miss smoke breaks with others at work or whatever, just keep hanging out with them but don’t smoke. If they ask about it, don’t say you are trying to stop, say you did stop.

    1. Sure, if it’s just a bare link in the comments I understand, but as a post with the original video title and usually an autogenerated thumbnail, I don’t see a problem.
    2. The YT descriptions are not shown in the list of videos and rarely contain a summary of the video.
  • I wouldn’t mind switching to alternative libraries like Svelte or Solid but can’t imagine going back to plain Javascript for complex applications. It’s a pain in the ass, even with jQuery.

  • Hercules Prophet 9700 Pro

I remember because it was my first PC that I got for myself. I was an intern at a small computer repair shop and that's where I learned how to build computers.

Before that I only played on my parents PC and afterwards I switched to Mac.

  • Cyberpunk was just announced.

The problem is Apple is chasing after individual games to be released for Mac instead of fixing the underlying issue that developing for Mac is too expensive. Every year they proudly announce one or two new AAA games and meanwhile hundreds of new games were released on every other platform and I just want more indie titles. What is their end goal? I don’t understand.

  • I played once on PS4 (yes the one they had to pull from the store) and when the DLC was released I replayed everything on PS5. I had a great time and was doing even more sidequests than before. Wouldn’t mind going back in to 100% it, but there are just too many other games.
