  • I literally made no statement of supporting anyone ironically or unironically. You seem to have a fascination with swastikas and seem to want to justify your desire to embrace nazi ideology.

    I do not.

  • It does, and to be honest you make a good point to question any media organization with motives and spin. That's an excellent thing to do and I personally have a lot of wariness towards any kind of mainstream corporate media or government funded/approved media. Both have reason and willingness to put spin and try and push their own agenda by controlling the narrative.

Frankly, I enjoy this type of discourse.

But, to the overarching matter at hand, most interactions I've had, or observed from members of your instance have not been as cordial as you've been today. I appreciate you participating in this discussion civilly and without vitriol or malice.

Do you think it's realistic that over time your fellow Hexbears could engage in civil discourse without resorting to name calling and posting giant images of pig anuses?

  • Saying "there was no massacre on tianamen square, but 300 people were killed about a mile away from it on the night of a large demonstration there" isn't the flex you think it is.

  • This isn't good faith because the post is not about relitigating a thread.

The op made clear that as the admin of this instance, this is where they draw their line and gave some background on the post.

The Hexbear users in this thread are trying to argue the political implications of those statements while completely ignoring the core issue of the post for discussion: whether lemm.ee should remain federated with Hexbear.

  • I also apologize that this has happened to you, but I'd also like to say I had literally never heard or seen anything about "wumao 5 cent army boy" type comments until you guys federated, and I've still never seen it used in any context outside of Hexbear users saying that it's an accusation lobbed at them. I'm not saying it doesn't or hasn't happened, just pointing out that you folks might be Streisand effecting yourselves with it.

Have Lemm.ee users been calling you these words? Are your threads being invaded by users from our instance accusing you of being this?

Just asking as I have seen numerous posts on lemm.ee and other instances where Hexbear users have filled the comments calling other users "libs" and other derisive terms.

It's not okay for either side to do these things, but to be perfectly honest, I've seen multiple occurrences of one thing happening, and I've yet to see the other.

  • I think you are missing the issue here.

What the admin has stated is facts and their set of rules for participation here that aren't up for debate.

The issue at hand is whether your instance can act civilly and coexist within our sphere.

I'm concerned that you read this post and all you took from it was that "America is bad" I don't recall seeing anything about America listed in the original post.

It seems you are more concerned with pushing your pro-Russia agenda then debating the status of Lemm.ee's federation with Hexbear.

Honestly I think this is a good example of what folks from the Hexbear instance are interested in. Not all, but many are much more interested in derailing threads and promoting Russian propaganda and ideology above being engaged participants in the communities they visit.

I believe that this lowers the overall experience of other users. I don't know if defederation is 100% the right answer, but I do hate opening a comment section hoping to find civil discourse about the topic of the original post and finding a bunch of trolls derailing it.
