Think a lot of it comes down to personal preference, but for me, reviews serve two purposes - 1) give me an overview of what the manga is about and its attributes (eg the art is detailed) and 2) whether the reviewer recommends it.
I don’t think reviews should include major spoilers, and if it does, make sure it is tagged as such. I don’t think any “twists” should ever be included tho (eg it was actually person A who murdered him!). I would sum it up as “the story is very interesting” instead.
I wrote a few reviews a long time ago, I would typically write it in this format:
Thanks for the analysis. I’ll eager wait for the entire story to finish first then binge the whole thing. I hate waiting for animes with good drama to finish lol
It’s incredibly detailed but that’s what hurts the flow for me, especially in this current arc where every panel has a million things blowing up or moving.
Read Saotome Girl, Hitakakusu. Thought it was going to be mostly about boxing, but it’s 90% school/romance. Not exceptional, but it was a fun read. Really like the subtle yet unexpected humor. Also has a good ending. Each chapter is only 12-14 pages so despite it being 124 chapters, it wasn’t THAT long. Recommended for anyone looking for a light hearted romcom that features some boxing.
Sakamoto Days is also one of my current favorites. It’s funny how you talk about not getting confused by the action then mentioning Dandadan. I cannot follow Dandadan’s action at all lol
I don’t consider Holyland a classic delinquent manga. It’s more fighting/martial arts than deliquent. GTO is kind of the same, where the focus isn’t with the delinquent lifestyle. I enjoyed both of those immensely, but I didn’t enjoy most pure delinquent mangas (only exception is GTO prequel). Part of it is the style. I typically dislike mangas that are gritty and rough.
I’ve accidentally read a manga twice without realizing it, but honestly it’s very rare. And if the manga is good enough for me to read it again, I don’t mind that either.
So yeah, never had to keep a list of what I’ve read. And for things I want to read, I just add it as a favorite on the app I use (Aidoku)
