Ever met someone you don't like? Not because they beat your mom and impregnated your sister... just because you don't like them?
I was sleeping on a tiny rectangular memory foam couch pillow for months before I finally got my new awesome pillow, because the tiny pillow was much better than the shitty full size pillows
If we had a forced and honest age & intellect number by each username, the numbers you'd most commonly see are 13-23 and 80-110.
Don't worry, you're talking with teenagers and college freshmen that know everything on every topic. They can't name 3 aspects of an ideology they claim to represent but that's besides the point. ChatGPT will hallocunate it for them so we can get even more chuckles.
No, the commenter who mentioned being libertarian just got -18 votes for a valid and pretty universal opinion, with the next comment being
"As a libertarian" is not the way to start an opinion if you want to be taken seriously.
Funny enough, I recognize the user who's comment I quoted as the poster of one of the most ridiculous shittakes I've seen in recent weeks.
However, pedophilia is typically brought up within 2-3 comments when someone says they're a libertarian. That's not to say it's the only thought terminator people use. Seems now all they need to say is
"As a libertarian" is not the way to start an opinion if you want to be taken seriously.
thought terminated. downvote indiscriminately.
I have a phone with me all the time and I have to be in a specific place to see notes, so notes don't work for me. I do have a button on my phone I can talk to and say "Set a reminder to feed the animals at 6:30" or "set a weekly reminder to take out trash at 10pm every Friday" or "text her back in an hour" and then I get an alarm I can't really ignore, I have to do something with it.
It rolls right off the tongue like 10 seconds of cunnilingus.
Same in the US now, but in our case it's because although 'people' is clearly self-evident if you're talking about a person/people, during the time of segregation those were the terms used - coloreds & whites. Whites Only Water Fountain. Whites Only Bathroom. Coloreds at the back of the bus, only Whites up front.
Libertarianism has the "don't allow companies to seize power with regulatory capture" and "whatever the state does is backed by enforced seizure of funds and whatever it enforces it does so with violence" takes, which are both pretty solid
Have you noticed how any mention of libertarianism is instantly met with the 'pedo association' thought terminator?
It was really gaining a lot of popularity as an ideology until around the 2016 elections and trailed off until COVID. But like Occupy WallSt and all ideas dangerous to The State, suddenly anyone who wants to be free to do what they want in their own home (like growing and using entheogens) and not let corporations run the state suddenly equals "they just want to date kids."
Astroturfing works. It's especially effective when you can do it to an entire new generation, all at the same time.

You just made me think about my current shoe collection. I have 2 pairs of flip flops, 1 pair of slip on house shoes, 4 pairs of slip on walking/tennis shoe looking shoes (dunno what to call them) and 2 actual tennis shoes with laces and 2 dress shoes with laces.
When I run, I wear the laces. Anywhere else I'm laceless. Haven't worn business attire since covid began.
It looks worse than it is because I tried to make it poetic. Though, therapy only works if you're actually honest with your therapist about everything (and you can truthfully say you aren't comfortable discussing something at that time, remaining honest and expressing boundaries) but I'm not even being honest with myself. When I can get to that point and get the courage to make the choices I know deep down are right for me, then maybe I'll try therapy again.
That's a good point too. The cheap warm face-grabbing cotton pillowcases with a bunch of extra slack suck, but silk is too smooth for me. I also like to wash my pillowcases a lot and silk doesn't care for that much. Pretty sure what I have now is high-count cotton, but it actually fits the pillow properly so there aren't corners hanging off.
'ay nart, wuh yew uh to tday spud
Honestly I'll have to look but no I don't believe so. Just some random recommendation from a reddit comment a couple years, with multiple people praising this pillow and I'd just gotten a really nice new expensive king size bed so I said fuck it, pillow splurge time. I think I got 2 king size pillows for 160.
Edit-
and I accidently got queen pillowcases instead of king and had to return them but they sent kings free of charge. so yeah, maybe get the smallest one sans pillowcase first and see if you like it. it's a big purchase but I certainly don't regret it. The site says it's $84 for the cheapest smallest single pillow. https://sleepgram.com/pages/adjustable-pillowI did for a bit but the years went by and sure she's happy, but am I?
It's been 5 years and we're still together.
I think we both know it's time.
It's rough, man. Kids.
My dreams are screaming at me.
Am I supposed to 'follow my dreams'? Is it literal?
I'm not sure what I want anymore, whether I'd be happier single. My subconscious yawps but I ignore it.
Last night I was cheating with 3 of my ex's, at once, in my sleep. She said I was sleep screaming again, but I only remember the spice I felt for life. It's been so long.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I listened to this advice and splurged on a $60 or $80 "customizable" (it comes with 3 different layers, you combine them how you want) pillow and holy shit, I went from a 2-3 stack pillow 'wake up multiple times each night and re-tuck' to a 1-pillow man that doesn't need to touch my pillow until it's moved for some reason.
I won't even name the pillow because of the nature of the thread but man. New pillow life is pretty great. Sorry that you guys got burned on your shitty pillows. For what it's worth I also tried like 5 of the most expensive (not customizable, but all had something 'special' that made it better') pillows at the mattress store and they pretty much universally sucked.
Mines exactly how stiff I want it, stays cool in warm weather, doesn't stink of memory foam (I think it did at first, instructions were to air it out), and never goes soft.
If only I could buy customizable body parts 😔
I can see how he may come across like that. He seems like a cross between a confident go-fuck-yaself New Yorker and the Onion News Network's best ever reporter, Michael Falk. https://youtu.be/D04wb7P_v-4

As someone who has taught an impatient child (what's the opposite of an oxymoron?) how to tie a shoe, I can tell you there are many different ways to tie a shoe, and apparently there is a way that's easier for autistic kids (I thought that might be easier) but I was having trouble with it as an adult. So...
ELI5 how do neurotypical adults autistie their shoes?
Making something part of your identity that you don't truly comprehend, just because all your friends are doing it. A tale as old as time.
Well, maybe. I think some pre-tech civilizations had it more figured out than others. Many Inuit and Native American tribes seem to have known a thing or two about raising intelligent, confrontation-adverse, self-reliant humans as quickly as possible, out of necessity. There was a study I read some time in the last decade that made some solid points about pre-agricultural societies likely being more egalitarian. Also out of necessity I would imagine. However we also have documented evidence that this is not always the case, see this amazing video of first contact -

A mostly unrelated but interesting historical fact about America is that the US interstate highway system is only as awesome as it is because of the need to transport supplies, troops, etc. between military bases and across the country. In fact, the original name was "Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways."
It also kinda derailed (metaphorically) our future train system, and I'm sure that's partly why it's in such a sad state of disrepair at the moment. we might be less reliant on cars in the US if we had better nationwide train systems and local shares transport (busses etc).
I assume the Autobahn was similar - a way to get through that stretch quickly?
I brought this up yesterday, and I'm not even a libertarian. I just have working eyes and those muscles between them run decent enough too. The ideology of libertarianism is so harmful to the corporations that run this country that it had to be astroturfed into the thought terminator cliche of "libertarian = pedo" amongst an entire new generation. They destroyed Occupy WallSt in a different but similar way, by infiltrating all the influential OWS groups and making identity politics a core tenant (if you're white, shut up because your opinions are worthless - thought terminator cliche so 'in your face obvious' that they're promoting exactly what they're supposedly fighting against, but most were taken in anyway) - here's a video of it in action from 2011.

The corporations that run this country love youth internet addiction. There's never been an easier time in history to spread or destroy a movement simply by spending money. You don't even need a puppet. It's the ultimate power.
