What? Who has said this would be ok?

We can support people not wanting to be invaded, and not support bad things that they do as well. Not hard.

The mass victim blaming of these pieces has been appalling and as confusing as the crackdowns on campus protests against the Israeli massacres of Palestine.

I have never felt so estranged from the points of view of the media as I have been this past year, and I’m a 40some year old cis, straight, white dude. I’m afraid this is all going to get far worse before it gets better.

Well, that makes me sick.

I think that limited stocks are OK and appropriate. What I really have a problem with is people betting on failure in the stock market. That should never be allowed.

This was easy to predict. Record profits, high stress for the working class, two justice systems. The inequality and helplessness lead to this and was preventable systemic, but, you know, shareholders.

Yah. I, too, have had reservations, as it looks like every other Mr. beast type youtuber. But, I think we have to come to grips with the fact that it is driven by capitalism and YouTube’s algorithm.

I think it was Linus Tech Tips that had a video explicitly explaining the A-B methods that are used to serve a thumbnail and how the annoying youtuber face ones tended to get more traffic and more new viewers.

Thankfully, he does seem to be interested in education as well as earning money recording himself doing ridiculous things.

While it is not my cup of tea, my youngest loves it and has brought up engineering and physics concepts from it in appropriate situations, so I am not complaining.

The Takeaway I’m getting from both of these studies being talked about Is that things are very unclear. The Cochrane group is very well regarded for conducting Meta studies and finding flaws in previously held understandings. The term high fluoridation is mentioned many times, and it’s unclear what that is meaning.

Vitamin A is an incredibly important molecule to many biological processes in the human body, but we do not want to supplement it, aggressively, as it can become toxic. Fluoride is noted to be beneficial for enamel hardening. No one is recommending taking large amounts of it. The second link you have points out the important questions, what is the actual danger, and who is in danger the most?

One could only hope they would do that. It WOULD solve the problem.
