  • Someone clearly hasn't been listening to the lyrics in pop songs.

Some modern pop songs are actually about some pretty dark subjects and aren't happy at all. Pumped Up Kicks immediately comes to mind.

  • You can already do that. Unless you're banned from that instance.

  • Fuck you.

  • Weird that you call the literal and metaphorical "host" the parasite in this.

  • You got flamed for being right.

  • If you choose not to vote, you're only helping the greater of two evils.

  • How do republicans not realize that they're the Empire?

  • If PeerTube can fix their major discoverability issues, it can potentially pose a real threat to YouTube. But that's the biggest thing keeping it back right now, is that it's impossible to just find anything you want to watch.

Unless you want to watch hour-long seminars on Linux. In which case, PeerTube's got you covered.

  • There will never be a real competitor to YouTube, because nobody else is willing to run at a net loss for a decade before seeing their first profitable quarter, like Google did with YouTube.

Turns out, free video hosting is expensive as fuck.

  • The "I'm sick of Elon posts" comments are more annoying than all the Elon posts.

  • Not bad, but totally unremarkable

Pretty much sums up my experience with rattlesnake, as well. The novelty of it was the most interesting part, really.

Though that really applies to just about every "exotic" meat I've had. They all taste like a slightly worse version of other, more conventional meats, and it's immediately made clear why it's not more popular in the first place.

  • Apple was kind enough to beta test it on Android for years, too!

  • I'm just glad it got a redemption arc at all. I fell in love with the game at launch, despite the bugs and performance issues, and was sad to see people being unwilling to give it a shot.

I just hope CDPR remembers this lesson the next time. Just wait until it's actually done. Whatever projected losses you may foresee by delaying the game are nothing compared to the reputation that will haunt you by releasing it too early.

  • I feel like the gravy mix isn't supposed to be safe to eat that long. Might explain why you stole the toilet paper.

  • At this one office I worked at, none of their ergonomic equipment was asset-tagged for some reason, and everybody knew about it. So whenever somebody with a lot of ergo gear got fired or quit, it was a race to raid their desk and plunder their equipment. Management never looked into it because nothing was tagged, so they never qualified what equipment was given out in order to claim as missing in the first place.

I got a decent keyboard and trackball mouse out of it. I know a few people that managed to sneak out some of the $800+ chairs, but that always felt too risky to me.

At another place I worked at, they were upgrading all their computers at every desk. I asked the dude swapping then out what they do with the old machines. He told me they were literally being taken out back to a pile to be scrapped/recycled. I asked if I could take one, he said he wasn't allowed to give them to me, but he then reiterated exactly where the pile of old computers was. I took the hint, snuck around the back of the building and grabbed one of the tiny little OptiPlex Minis. Used it as a media center for a little while.

  • I ought to beet you up for that one.

  • Dang, that's a bummer. I never really used it because the novelty of it ran out pretty quick for me, but it's always disappointing seeing such a staple of the internet disappear like that.

  • So is just about every single social platform on the internet.

  • This thread is literally the first time I've heard of either of those.
