  • Apple already knows that iMessage, alone, is a huge selling point for their iPhones. They held out for a few years keeping iTunes away from the rest of us before finally giving in, but I very much doubt that they're going to open up iMessage any time soon. It's pretty much the only thing that keeps iPhone users in their ecosystem anymore.

  • I get this even when signed in. Reddit really doesn't like VPNs at all these days.

  • Oh man, this is a real bummer. I was really hopeful for Artemis. Hopefully Harriette's doing okay, though.

  • I don't see why not. Mastodon could just translate multi-word hashtags into underscored hashtags. There's already some unsupported features from forks like Firefish that get translated, like emote-reactions register on Mastodon as favorites, etc.

  • Kinda bummed that it looks like it'll be an Xbox exclusive, I'm really interested to see what this turns out to be. Kojima x Peele was an unexpected collab to see tonight.

  • I really love the aesthetic of this. Reminds me a bit of Arcane.

  • Threads is planning to federate, so it adopting more Fediverse-compatible features is relevant.

  • I remember playing this on the Wii and trying to make the tallest tower I could. I really hope they bring back a similar feature, that was really fun.

  • I remember a similar outrage when Snake was revealed for Smash Bros Ultimate.

And for good reason. He's canonically dummy-thicc.

  • It's because after a certain point, YouTube stops updating the view counts in real time. Some other stats (such as likes) will still update, though.

  • Yep, PeerTube instances are all part of the Fediverse.

  • It's basically an RSS reader (with a bunch of curated feeds) with a nice interface. I've used it off and on and found it to be no better or worse than a lot of other mainstream news readers.

  • Eh, I feel like that's actually what makes it generic. The "survivors are the real monsters" trope is kinda played-out, IMO.

  • In my opinion, it very quickly became a generic zombie apocalypse survival story after a couple episodes. I thought the fungal angle to a zombie outbreak was a very interesting take, and I would've liked to see a bit more focus on that aspect of things. But they hardly showed off the zombies at all. It gave me TWD vibes for most of the episodes. And not the good "look at the flowers" vibes, but the "spend half of Season 2 walking up and down this small stretch of road looking for a girl who isn't there" vibes.

The cast were all fantastic, but I just wasn't that hooked with the storytelling, I guess.

  • I was never a fan of the Fallout games (just couldn't get into the setting for some reason), but this looks surprisingly good. I'll probably give this a watch. Hoping it's a better adaptation than The Last of Us was, as I love when a video game adaptation succeeds.

  • I'm honestly surprised it happened. I fully expected Republicans to continue to embrace his fraudster ass until the end of time. It's weird to see just how far away they're willing to draw the line, though. Like, it was known from the start that he was a fraud, and they were all onboard anyway.

  • I hate that my tax dollars keep funding these jackasses. Can't wait to move out of this failed state.
