  • They are a dark money group, so they hide their donors. The founders are Ted Cruz's PR guy and a personnel guy from Trump's presidency. It was created in 2020 specifically to obstruct Biden.

  • It was definitely uninhabited. It was the Vikings who founded it. It's pretty interesting. The icelandic language has changed so little, they can read the original Beowulf text as easily as they read a bus schedule. It's a really hard land to survive in. These truths are things like the economy is improving but will take time, prices will never go back to what they were before Covid, man-made climate change is a real existential threat to human civilization, legalizing abortion results in fewer deaths than banning it, trans people exist, and institutional racism exists.

    Some of the comfortable lies are that tariffs will fix everything, fuel prices will drop if we drill more, wars in Ukraine and Palestine can be easily ended with simple negotiation, and Project 2025 isn't the working plan for the Trump presidency.

  • I never would have been able to sell my dad's house if it wasn't for a flipper. It needed tons of work and there was no way I could afford to do what needed to be done to make it sellable.

    What should be illegal is owning more than two houses. I work for a bunch of millionaires and all of them own at least 3. One even owns 8 homes!
