  • I bought a frame online from Michaels that arrived broken. I drove to the store, rather than pay to ship it back, and they said they would refund me the price of the frame, but not the shipping I paid for originally. It took a manager (15 minute wait) and many minutes of me insisting I shouldn't have to pay anything for a broken product for them to finally just give up and swipe the card that allowed them to refund my shipping (only as store credit, mind you). They were not happy about it.

  • The results are that they were only tested on perfectly healthy people which is not indicative of their success in the general population, and the results were also that most people gained the weight back immediately upon stopping the drug.

The side effects were not too bad for people getting the drug for free, but at 1k a month, those side effects cause much higher drop out rates as well.

Still way more promising than anything else available, but not that promising overall.

  • Right, that's what I was thinking : just try to pick the smallest race. I'm guessing the majority would try to do the same thing. Obviously you have people who hate other races, but I'm hoping that even if 30% have the same idea, maybe it limits casualties.. unless we're all allowed to Google though, I'm guessing most of us have different guesses as to what the smallest race is

  • Because my mouth isn't gross at night. Eating and drinking throughout the day keeps it neutral. I drink a lot of water. In the morning it's just been sitting still all night and is gross to me. I don't do a bathroom routine right before bed. I'm usually in the living room and go straight to bed. Maybe pee if I need to, but I change into comfy clothes as soon as I get home from work, and I shower in the morning

  • My circle has all turned on Airbnb. It's a gamble. It used to be the gamble was worth it because it was cheaper than hotels, but now that they're the same price, it's not worth it.

Last time went great, the time before was not properly cleaned to guest standards, and they restained the wood walls in the kitchen so the whole place was permeated with an awful chemical smell that kept me from sleeping. At a hotel, you can just switch rooms if anything is suboptimal. At an air BNB, you're stuck. Everyone in my circle has had half good half bad experiences and it's just not worth risking your trip over.

  • Agreed. I'm about to update to the new (to me) Google Pixel, probably the 6a. (I think they're on the 8 now?) The battery on my current pixel is not holding up. My last two phones were pixels and probably my next couple will be as well

  • First thing after I wake up, very thoroughly with a soft toothbrush. I can't start my day with gross mouth. Definitely never right after coffee (though I understand the impulse). I never seem to get around to it at night. My dentist seems satisfied. If I leave the house in the evening, I brush before I go out.

  • I think this is especially true the older you get, but my experience was vastly different to my husband's who was born 4 years before me, and somewhat significantly different from my brother's 3 years behind. Part of the gap between my husband and I has to do with the large age difference in our parents, but the biggest difference is how quickly technology was changing in our formative years in the early 2000s. I am the youngest of the millennials,, my brother is firmly gen Z (though only born the first or second year of them) and my husband is firmly a millennial

  • Especially frustrating because vomiting isn't even guaranteed with pregnancy! 20-30% of women make it through with no morning sickness, and then out of the 70-80% who do feel totally nauseous, not everyone actually vomits!

  • I'm guessing if OP is bothered in the same way as me: it's because they still brush their teeth. It's not (like people showering/ pooping) that they just don't show the activity. It's that they have the actor brush their teeth as part of the scene, but there's no toothpaste involved.

  • This might not be what you're looking for, but have you watched the show "How it's made"? I think it was made in Canada or something and it's just the fascinating process of creation from start to finish of every day things like baseball bat or ice cream sandwich. No showiness, just the cool, interesting facts

  • My husband in tech related job has been out of work for almost a year. He applies to things daily and has an interview once every two weeks or so (not counting many follow up interviews). He's a decent interviewer. The usual response is, we like you for this, we'll keep you in mind in the future, we just had so many applicants and the other guy is a better fit (or, we suspect, will do this job for less money). My brother in tech has also been out of work for months. Maybe your area is doing well? Our area had massive tech layoffs and is now way over saturated, and one of the main employers of our state (a tech firm) has been on a hiring freeze for months and months. Believe the article.
