  • Ooh I'm pregnant about to burst and pretty uncomfortable, so I am having a lot of screen time while I stay off of my feet and try to stay distracted from the discomfort. I'd say six hours on each day is not uncommon. Two hours at brunch time and four at night. And then I'm not counting the 4 hours possible added in the middle of the night when I can't sleep from discomfort - I'm not really watching but I have reruns on.

Also, of course all of this is streaming, which imo absolutely is TV

  • I don't get how showering is less than an hour affair for any women at least. Between washing my hair, washing my body, shaving under my arms, and shaving my legs, that's easily 30 minutes. And then the whole applying moisturizer so my skin doesn't totally dry out from the shower, toweling off, lying in front of a fan to actually feel dry, and semi drying my hair, that's an hour (plus my hair is still wet for hours after). This does not include the time spent convincing myself to shower. I shower twice a week. Less if I don't have anything going on that week/ I get to stay home.

I don't, because my hair is naturally straight, but a lot of women also have to completely reset their hair with every shower too, blow drying, straightening, curling - whatever they do to look professional again.

I absolutely do use deodorant though, and I also clean under my pits with a washcloth between showers if I ever start to smell anything past neutral

  • If your vagina smells bad, you should go to your doctor in case you have an infection. Vaginas should smell neutral to mild. That said, You're really not supposed to use any kind of soap in or directly around a vagina, so it's a bit concerning that you mention lack of soap and smelly vaginas in the same point. Vaginas are self cleaning and using soaps (especially with any kind of fragrance!) Can lead to serious issues. Clean with water and a newly washed wash cloth (only if you use non scented, mild detergent) or water and a clean hand. You should not clean anything past the exterior.

Let your body clean itself out with your natural lubricant, and then clean the outside with water daily.

  • You seem disenchanted, but there was clapping at the end of my viewing of Barbie, too, and I loved it. The atmosphere of the theater was so upbeat and fun! So many people were dressed in pink, and everyone kept saying "Hi, Barbie!" As we entered and exited the theater. This was a couple weeks after the premiere, and people were still having fun with it. A real sense of playfulness. One of my favorite theater experiences!

  • Yeah, as someone with misophonia, I can't imagine my hearing getting better than it is. Already I can't tune stuff out, and it's not just people talking. It's ALL the lawn work in my neighborhood! It's the bunny rustling leaves in my backyard from my bedroom. It's the fan in the fridge that everyone else just blocks out. The gurgle of the fish tank. Lights make a high pitched noise, as do other electronics. That's all before people. The amount of noises people make that others tune out is so much! Rubbing your fingers together. The spit in your mouth right before you speak. If I'm cuddling with you, the liquid squish your eyes make when you blink. The creaking and popping of your joints! Even just breathing is a loud constant. Most everyone else is filtering all this out, but it's not something you can learn to time out. You either can or you can't, and if you can't you end up literally moving because your neighbor coughs too much and it wakes you up in the middle of the night.

  • Yep. I have several times dismissed an alarm instead of snoozing it. My tired brain gets so confused. I don't know what either word means, and I know I'm supposed to pick one of them and I end up picking dismiss, even though snooze is green and dismiss is red. I just can't figure out what I'm supposed to do and then fall back asleep. I have slept through exams and interviews in this way :(

  • Women's showers take longer and are full of chores. I have to wash my body same as you, but then I have to wash hair (long hair, a lengthy process) shave under my arms, shave my legs, wash my face several times to remove mascara, and currently, as I am pregnant, I have to do special skin care for my boobs, belly, and upper thighs to account for the painful skin stretching of quick growth. I try to break it up so it doesn't all fall on the same day, but the quickest I can get out on a day I have to do all of it is like 30 minutes. The music keeps me on track so I don't spend any time just standing under the water not doing a chore.

  • I mean that's 950 a month. My husband and I weren't rich, but we used to order in weekly, we didn't have to compare prices when grocery shopping, and we used to go on a trip (not out of the country but possibly out of the state) once or twice a year. We used to have streaming services (almost all of them). We used to buy our friends' birthday gifts and each other Christmas presents. We used to have two cars. We used to buy candles and name brand cleaners. Now we do none of that, plus our rent went way up. We are scraping by. We have no streaming services, one car, eat a lot of rice, and are not exchanging Christmas gifts. We don't go to events of any kind, and we don't consider vacations. I'm not surprised that it easily adds up to 950 a month, especially when you consider the two rent increases between Jan of 2021 and now (the latest was a 30% increase)

  • What? Like all appliances break easier and are un-repairable while only performing the same or marginally better than their old counterparts.

Also clothes are way less hardy (though I concede they are cheaper, often softer and don't bleed in the washer as much) I don't know that I'd call them better.

  • I think if you go into it knowing they're siblings, it's all fine and normal. The rest of us saw the commercial blind, naturally interpreted the relationship as romantic and then were surprised to learn they're siblings and the recalibration was funny. If you have no context, and you're trying to interpret what the relationship is, at the beginning it definitely resembles a romantic relationship more than a sibling friendship

  • I feel like I've yet to find anything my ADHD makes easier for me. Only my triple checks and balances systems make things not as stressful but it's at the cost of extra time and energy. I'm great at my job, but I never have any energy left for myself outside my job. I'm just limping along, doing my best to succeed half as much as everyone else because I'm so tired.
