  • Uplifting tangentially related note. Both the US and China (and soon a lot of other places) are already starting to produce sodium batteries (in actual products not just in labs) that sacrifice a bit of capacity for being way less volatile, require no or little rare earth metals and are less prone to discharging over time.

  • I swear DPS players are just jerks:
Me: Applies continuous healing and damage resistance to DPS
DPS: Walks right through multiple DoT inflicting AOEs and into the middle of a huge group of enemies immediately dying.
DPS: How dare you not keep me alive!

  • I hope the French know how hard it is to get rid of the right wing once you vote them in. When Sunak called an election in the UK within the first week we had relaxed voting requirements for expats (a typically right wing voting group) and anonymous complaints against MPs of the opposing party that simply prevent them from standing because the complaints investigation procedure is longer than the very short election window.

  • The UK and France have both joined the US navy in a few actions (Though of the two neither can really project carriers) Chinas navy is technically large but most of it is coastal waters only, That said they've conducted exercises around Taiwan so they can at least project some power.

  • Its still a problem, A sheet held across the road on a string would show up as a wall to both cameras and lidar. I for one am buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo looking forward to the emerging profession of road pirates robbing automated trucks this way.

  • Honestly the lack of balance is what I appreciated, throwing drones or skags at people or summoning a mech and firing off a huge volley of homing missiles. Given the series was already flanderized by BL2 it was nice to have more unique powers; though the timing of them felt a bit nasty as they were too frequent to be worth saving but had enough cooldown to be annoying in a tight spot. I think a good balance in future would be impactful powers with a much longer cooldown or some kind of conditional trigger that keeps guns the main focus.

  • We're free from stupid shit like mandatory free warranties on electronics, or chicken that doesn't taste like the physical incarnation of sadness, or fresh vegetables where you don't have to throw half away right after you buy it!

  • IMO:
1 had the best vibes and the best gear scaling
2 had the best villain and boss fights
3 had the most fun character abilities.

A huge part of the problem is it becoming a classic heros vs villains story. It was way better when we were just mercenaries in it for ourselves.

  • One way or another I'm moving to Linux for my next PC. but damn I finally think I understand enough to decide Debian would be a good 'it just works' distro and then Linux users out the woodwork telling me its actually a pain in the ass and to use XYZ (all disagreeing) distros instead. I'm like 90% sure its going to be Debian, Ubuntu or Mint but beyond that its more uncertain than the inside of a black hole.
