I was going to suggest Adventure games too. Games like the Broken Series series, Sam and Max games, Sherlock Holmes and a large variety of puzzle games like Machinarium. There is a huge selection to choose from. A lot of them tell stories, are humorous and engaging

Gobliiins! I loved that game. I did buy it off gog to play again because it had been many years.

I've read all of them, but the Watch books are my favorite (as you can see).

My only claim is that I have my original 1973 copy. I managed to drag that around for many years
