  • Very interesting, thanks for sharing. Lucky for me, both balance and posture during hiking have not been a source of discomfort or pain for me before. Although I can imagine clambering over rocks might be faster with less bulky footwear because it's easier to balance.

  • What is the appeal to you of feeling the surface you walk on more directly? In my experience, having bulky soles enables your feet to take rough terrain for longer ( I did some multiday hikes in the Alps )

Also the soles (of B or A/B class hiking shoes) can have a very comfortable bedding, so it feels like a luxury item to me. I guess that's why if feels strange to me to that some would rather forgo them all together :-)

  • I agree that leaving out the destinction might cause you to need extra time to explain. This is a consequence of having multiple cultural and ethical backgrounds in your society. Or not, because why does the appearance of skin or face matter, who cares? You could call them dark skin or Caucasian japanese, but that is just a type of Japanese person, a dark skinned, or south American or middle European Japanese person is till just that, japanese. Which is what I said in the first place

Ethnocentricity should be about culture, but you applied it to race. Even while immigration services and the state agree: this person is naturalized and thus their nationality is now fully Japanese, you still feel the need to distinguish.

  • Well in this case there is no distinction, she is Japanese and ethnically she is eastern European/Ukrainian. So... Japanese? It's cool that you like the distinction, but I responded to someone who said she is technically not japanese, which is technically incorrect. She is, just not ethnically.

  • They committed genocide a couple decades ago here too, when they forcibly moved the tartars out of Crimea. now they call it New Moscow and claim Russians have a right to own it... They take destroying life and love very serious in fascist Russia!

  • Very cool! I'm walking this same route, but with LibRedirect and Invidious Instance Selector Firefox addons. Maybe libraries can do community video-hosting and moderation? But please, no more businesses

  • Just because some creator (or in your words hallucinator) did not intend meaning, does not prohibit or somehow prevent any beholder to still derive or instill meaning. Your weird comment is also art. The webpage or app we are viewing it on is art. Remember this?. The definition you use may suit you personally, but words are for communicating with others, and to most others it's definition will be crucially different than yours. Consider adjusting your view or the words you use.

  • In your view, are there any disorders or dysfunctions of the mind left in the world? Is feeling comfortable with crucial differences between what is considered a healthy body and what is not, a good reason to stop calling it a disorder?

  • *Not ace. Getting horny for me feels like a reptile brain thing intruding in my normal life. It's like my body has a very limited use superpower, and can randomly provide hornyness at specific and un-specific moments :) I responded to you because 'just getting horny' seems weird to you, while it doesn't to me.
