  • I have been testing OsmAnd for daily use today, and I'm gonna be closing my maps presence in the coming months :-) . I was really happy how it worked and felt, very close to what I want. After some extra tweaking, it's bound to be fantastic!

  • I think the crucial part is natural fanbase growth... As a solo dev, your marketing budget is gonna be so extremely tiny, and releasing with 0 marketing is setting yourself up for disappointment so, it has got to come from somewhere. Maybe EA is not a necessity, but having a steam page is. Confidently typing this while not having a steam page to show for it, but you know what the Dutch say: the best captain is ashore (de beste stuurlui staan aan wal)

It's gonna be extremely terrifying 😅

  • Adding to the other reply to this: You can get natural growth of fans and wishlists, you can get free media attention so your brand/gamename grows in popularity, you can receive enthusiasm from randoms about work you have been keeping to yourself for a while, which can help motivate. I mean I'm super hyped about my own videogame project, but having other people be hyped about it is very rewarding :-). I used to shun early access until they became 1.0, because I got burnt a couple times. But If the dev(s) are transparent and communication is ok, I don't really care anymore for the same reason as this dev is pointing out: "It's done when it's done" is good enough in 95% of the cases for me.

  • Ouf! Lucky for us, both our migraine severity seems to lessen over time. My brother had symptoms more like yours, speech slurring or limb movement impediment. Because theses are also seizure symptoms, we had to go to the first aid a bunch on false alarms, but luckily it was always 'just' a crazy migraine.

  • Very cool explanation, thanks! I think dramatization is the culprit here, introducing noise to the facts.

Your visualization of a type of visual aura is distinctly different from when I have them, which is very cool because another response tells us they do recognize it! Mine is more in the negative space around the 'aura' you shared, rotating on some pulse-timing (about half of the heart BPM ), counterclockwise (am a right-handed human), like a white bolt lightning-wave circling around the middle, covering about half the circle at any time. I'll try and recreate the visuals sometime.

Thanks again for elaborating on this subject, you expanded my understanding :-).

  • Interesting find, apparently protein levels in spinal fluid vary pretty drastically after an aural migraine (where the pain comes after aura).

They say the aura's are a reaction to total neural activity shutdown, but I have never consciously experienced that before an aura. I would expect to have deja vu after such an event

  • thx for sharing! we did some underwater photography shenanigans back in the 00's and wow, shooting pics underwater is so very different from shooting them above.. Wow.. Nature = amazing

Like this one from Red Sea, 2006! Made by my mom :)
