  • Damn, very cool, thanks so much for elaborating!

I went to The Caves of Han and had a blast, and also went to some smaller natural caves. We have some divers in the family and I was well aware about the dangers and difficulties of exploring caves(systems) like this. Walking around on pathways with railings, lights and every comfort you need for walking through a cave, it sometimes felt surreal or weirdly conflicting.

I did some guided underwater caving myself in coastal reefs in Egypt. There was a point where you had turn up from horizontal, slightly left, and about 45degrees back upward where you came from, with only the light you make with the divers light. This tunnel was just large enough to fit you with divers equipment, so basically a human sized hamstertube. and even though our guide was fantastic and dive prep was 10/10, that was intense.

Cave exploring is super cool and very very dangerous and risky and unpractical, so it's not hard to feel great awe when you see some caves like this 'conquered', knowing the effort it must have taken :-) .

  • I read some articles from 2020 that touched on the culture @ Game Science, but it doesn't even really matter. It's just the way they single out stuff that feels really put of touch, pretty (ignorant) boomer attitude. I've only heard the word "feminist propaganda" from folks who are misogynistic, it's not something I associate with caring about inequality. Can you imagine being a woman influencer that got this message? I would think 3 times before partnering up with a party that gave me this dos and don't list.

It's probably something that can be attributed to cultural differences, but that doesn't mean that much to me. You move in a culture, but you are still responsible for you actions and words.

  • Hahahaha, wow, what a bunch of wet noodles. If you don't want negative discourse, maybe don't be misogynistic. Or don't publish your work in countries where free speech and personal freedoms are more abundant. No one is forcing you to publish here, so please keep your demands in your pants. Pffft, I was really interested in this game, now it's such an easy pass!

  • For NL:

Your ID costs money, but you are required to have one if you are not at home, so it's difficult to make obtaining one difficult. :) you need it 100%.

Also prices are in a set range, from 0 euros to 75,80 (2024), depending on what the local municipalities decide is fair (in that range).

Proof of address is obtained from the "basic person administration" (BRP), when you obtain your ID. That address is used to send you your Voting Pass and candidate list, so this is where the loop closes. If you have your ID and Voting Pass, your address checked out.

  • I was to young to get the networking screen in just the right settings when me and my brother were playing Red Alert. Luckily for me, 3 streets over, the dad of a friend in class got it set up over there, so i did get to experience it once or twice!

  • One Friday, we had a beamer/projector as a loaner, we had friends staying over and an extra xbox was in the house already as XBMC client, and we could do 4v4. That was so crazy, all of us in the same room. It was almost impossible not to get swept up in the intensity. 'that high', no ragrets.

  • Welcome! I have noticed the last week or two that there has been a real influx of activity, and it's now basically the same experience for larger subreddits/lemmy communities. All we need is some niche community and better cross/instance community combining and we're golden. Enjoy!
