From what I understand (besides all the other effects of this it apparently causes), the end result for someone affected, if they were an omnivore that ate beef/pork/lamb would just switch to eating all seafood/poultry?

So, besides the extremely problematic ethics of spreading an extremely harmful condition worldwide, I think the net effect would be that a different set of animals would be getting killed, not that people would suddenly be eating more ethically....

Can confirm IRL, too. I'm not vegan, but vegetarian. Cannot tell you how many rather stupid conversations I've had (initiated by omnivores that discover I'm vegetarian, which I don't exactly advertise, but obviously there are times it comes up if you are sharing a meal at work, or with friends/relatives and so on).

That's even with me not really having any desire to proselytize or anything. It'd be one thing if I was upping the ante in response. But there is a certain kind of omnivore that seem to be deeply triggered by the existence of veg*ns. I mean, it really really seems to bother them.

Thing is, that ability to evade that is intentionally built in. It has to be. We have KYC laws here and anything over 10K is tracked.

The fact that the ultrawealthy are able to manipulate money in ways so that it's not tracked and/or not taxed has to be by design.
