  • Yeah, I mean, they had time and decided to reply at the last day.

Also, they could've just said, that they don't know and can't know or will get back to with a time extension. There is a lot of solutions to this. Instead they just ignored the request.

  • Or less strain.

idk. In Germany we have foodbanks and they're strained too. Now, a large part of it is the 1 million Ukrainians we took in, and I think it's not as bad as Britain at the moment. But people have less money, so less to give to foodbanks, there are more people needing foodbanks between refugees and people not having money. So it's not good and I don't know how much space we have until it's the same situation as the UK.

  • I’m not sure people are too happy with some of labour’s recent moves (they’re aiming for the middle ground and just saying nothing but it’s alienating traditional labour supporters)

Yeah, the Tories succesfully managed to shift politics to the right where everyone just tries to appeal to center right and further while left voters can only vote for the lefter of the parties.

  • Actually, we deny requests quite often for various reasons from all kind of countries. Only except is the EU where there are special agreements in place. I think we would've delievered in the UK if the police station named a prison where he would've been gotten in. So I put that on the reluctant communication by the Manchester police station on a large degree.

As for German jails, putting aside some events like someone burning to death despite being completely restrained and the police saying "oh wow, no idea how that happened. Probably magic." we solve overcrowding by letting people with minor offenses go. Although statewise, specifically looking at Berlin, it's getting pretty bad.

  • Man, it really feels like the UK is coming apart at the seams. It's still holding together, but everything gets worse bit by bit. And despite it being in the open, some people just pound the drums louder, wave the flag more and think that past glory will protect from current failures.

I do hope you get a government worthy of Britain's positive legacy, not just rest on it as if it's eternal and unending.

  • When I was in elementary school in Germany there was a funny little mobile library. A truck with some shelves with books in it that directly drove to elementary schools and where kids could borrow books. They could give them back either the next time the mobile library showed up or at any libary directly.

It was not only comfortable, people were basically peer pressured in borrowing a book since everyone was doing it and it was kinda of an event when the mobile library arrived.

  • On the back of this evidence, the German court sought reassurances on two occasions from the UK authorities about prison conditions there.

The court said guarantees from the UK of compliance with minimum standards in accordance with the European convention on human rights were required. In addition, the court asked the British authorities to specify which prisons the Albanian man was going to be detained in and what his conditions of detention would be in those prisons.

A police station in Manchester replied to the court’s first request on the final day of the deadline for a response, saying 20,000 extra prison places were being built to deal with the problem of overcrowding. The second request for reassurance about UK prison conditions received no response from the UK.

"Just hand it over to us right now. It's overcrowded, but there will be new places soon (tm). Also, we won't tell you what prison."

So sloppy and unprofessional. I didn't think the state of UK prisons was so bad.

  • That's not all. The company has further outlined in its upcoming privacy policy it "may use the information we collect and publicly available information to help train our machine learning or artificial intelligence models."

All artists better get the fuck off that plattform. I doubt he will stop at text.

  • Following initial investigations into the case, Te Whatu Ora Auckland, formerly Auckland District Health Board, claimed it had not failed to exercise reasonable skill and care towards the patient, who was in her 20s.

    ???

"We always leave instruments inside patients body. This is just what we do, that's not any measure of failure. Fuck off."

  • Well, to be fair, most of the really good content was rarely make it to r/all. Reddit's biggest strength was always the sometimes oddly specific niche communities. You had a niche? You'll find a place or multiple places where you can sate your hunger.

To this day I still look into Reddit, albeit I don't participate anymore, because there are some niche communities that I can't find in a similiar form somewhere else.

  • Also, the aesthethic is not just about how photorealistic the game looks or what cutting edge technologies it uses. That's why some games age differently than their peers, simply because their art style is not or less diminished by technological advances.

I don't care very much about the cutting edge graphics, I rather have something with a round aesthethic than dry looks with ray tracing.

  • Yeah, and e.g. I don't have much fun with racing game. Doesn't mean the games are bad and other people, who actually like the genre don't have fun. This is why you should know the reviewer and their tastes and biases to make a better judgement whether a game is for you or not from a review.

  • Stop twisting my words. I said no such thing as to vote for the other fossil. The issue is that the cultists will vote for Trump even if he was a corpse on a chair.

    if you’re actually an American

That's also weird. I never even pretended to be. In fact, I am not. But the election outcome usually has an impact on the rest of the world too, and 4 years of Trump was not a pleasure even outside of America, I can tell you that.

  • Currently I am actually concerned if Biden makes it through the election healthwise. He looks very brittle and if the incumbent president bonus wasn't direly needed, I would advocate for someone else to get there.

But I am actually afraid of him dying or getting too sick during the campaign circus phase and Trump will win again. I don't trust the American people at all.
